This would explain the finish today and why he hasn't wrestled since the Rumble. But you would think you just vacate the title and not even bring him out there. The write up is from Wrestling News:
"The concussion protocol story about Bobby Lashley that was sent out earlier by WWE appears to be a cover for a real injury.
Former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide reported on The Ringer Wrestling Show that Lashley will undergo shoulder surgery and he will be out at least 4 months, which means that he will not be part of WrestleMania. If you watched Lashley’s match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble then you would have noticed that Lashley was doing his best to not land on his shoulder when Lesnar was German suplexing him.
Famuyide said, “I have under good authority that Lashley is shoot hurt and has been hurt since the Rumble match. If you’ve noticed, he hasn’t worked any Raw’s. He hasn’t really defended his title. He was shoot hurt at the Lesnar match at the Rumble.”
Famuyide added, “From what I’m told, it’s for at least 4 months. Shoulder surgery. I’m hearing that he might not even make it to Mania.”
As far as what this means for MVP, he has been working out to get in shape so it’s possible that he will return to in-ring action soon."

The weird way he was taking those German suplexes at the Rumble I'm not shocked he messed his shoulder up. Those looked brutal.

Well at least he finally got his dream match with Brock and a 2nd world title reign in WWE before he has to take time off.

Could actually make for a Mania match for MVP, have him be pissed off that Lashley was put in the Chamber in the first place, blame Pearce for that and either Seth or Theory for the injury and demand a match with them

And I thought something was wrong the way Lashley was landing on those German's. Lesnar was sloppy as hell against Bobby and didn't protect him AT ALL.

That's the first thought I had, I know it was due to not having experience taking them, but each one looked more brutal the prior. I don't think him not getting injured would have changed the result of this match, but the guy has had the best run of his career the past year and hopefully the continues when he returns.

The positive thing is that this run in the past 18 months or so has fully cemented Lashley in the upper echelon. He doesn't have to worry about losing his spot. He can take his time, heal up and he's returning to an immediate main event angle with whoever's champion at the time.

They should've maybe done more rehersals beforehand.

That’s too bad, but it’s unsurprising news when you consider how awkwardly he kept landing on those German bumps at the Rumble.

Lashley was one of the MVPs of the Performance Center/ThunderDome era, he rightly earned the chance to defend his title in the first match in front of live fans in over a year at WrestleMania 37, and he got to have a decade-in-the-making dream match with Brock Lesnar.
He’s had a hell of a 24 months and it’s a shame that he won’t get to perform in front of 100,000 fans at WrestleMania 38.

Damn that sucks he will miss Mania
He at least got to get another title run out of it and will be booked strong when he comes back whoever is champ
I think Rollins beats Roman for the title after Mania tho

While he was surely in 1st class, a plane still is a plane and 12 hours there and 12 hours back with a poorly shoulder seems not much fun, especially when it was all for naught.

They should have vacated the title and had Mansoor take the place of Lashley in the Chamber. I mean, Mansoor exists to be wheeled out for the Saudi audience.

It's bad he's missing Mania but honestly it's probably a blessing in disguise.
If he wasn't injured, he would've just gotten buried by Brock tonight and that would've killed his momentum.
