He's alright in the ring (though I feel he's no better now than he was two years ago fighting Seth), but he sucks at everything else.

Dominik's that dude who's always hanging around his girlfriend's parents house and eating up all of their food.

But really what would a stint in NXT really accomplish? It's not going to fix his physical shortcomings. He can spend a long while down there and it won't turn him into a more adult-like figure. He's suddenly going to look and sound like an adult? He really was dealt a bad hand.

Dominika had a role to play both in the Brock feud as well as Seth feud and was easy to get behind because he was defending his family. Since then? You have to become more than Rey's son. So I fo put a lot of that on WWE for lack of creative. But Dominik does need to develop his own persona

So who looks like the older wrestler…current day Dom or unmasked 12 year old WCW Rey? Bobby Heenan: “It’s Leave It To Beaver!”

Dominick while not good on the mic is not that bad. This was not Rhonda's Rebecca promo or anything like that. He is decent in ring and I think with a strong push people would get behind him. Have him beat Priest for the US title and have a run as a fighting champion while Damion moves into a more main event role.

Dominik looks like a kid playing dress-up pro wrestler. He's also 24 years old. It looks even worse when you have Austin Theory, a dude the same age but light years ahead in terms of pretty much everything, on the same brand.
Dominik really needs a further spell in developmental.
well austin was brought up by papa johnny and mommy candace so it's only natural he had an advantage there.

He, unfortunately, got everything else. He looks like his dad (unmasked 12 year old WCW Rey) And he talks like his father. Mic work was always Rey's shortcoming, because he also *sounds* like a 12 year old. And poor Dom inherited that.

There's nothing inherently wrong with how he looks or sounds. I looked up the promo. It was bad, but not because of the sound of his voice, because he needs to work on promos. They can teach him in developmental. That's supposed to be what developmental does. This stuff about 'physical adulthood' is kinda weird. He's fine.,

NXT exists to help talent find themselves too, at least in theory. Look at Duke Hudson. While I don't like where he is right now, at least he's had a chance to experiment with a few different personas. Dominik could've benefitted from a 2-3 year run where he got to try different things out in and out of the ring before hitting the main roster.

He got the worst parts and he's taller but he lacks all of the pure natural talent Rey always had, Rey was a top 10 in ring talent when he was 17.

Yeah, it super doesn't help that he didn't get to workshop a character or be something else or get that experience on his own in front of a smaller crowd. That kind of stuff is important; the wrestlers who come up inside of a giant hamster ball with an idea handed to them and little prep time to experiment or find themselves as performers are the ones who typically end up very limited and unable to go anywhere after, and it's a really typical problem for second generation wrestlers because they get this exact sort of treatment. It's why all the biggest second gen success stories are the ones who weren't rushed in, were trained properly, got to feel that out, got to learn. Dominik hasn't had the chance to learn that facet.

Dom already had inherent name value based on Rey but rushing him up the card so soon is proving to be a major mistake.
I was fine with having his debut match on the main roster so that he could be protected in a one-time tag scenario. Since then, a ton of the promise he once had is nearly gone due to overexposure.
I agree with everyone else here, like, had Dom been in NXT in 2020 there would have been plenty of singles feuds, and he could even bring Rey in for a match against Legado, for instance. Who knows, he and Bron could have been feuding over the NXT title right now for all we know.
The difference between someone like Dominik and Hook is patience and protection. Hook especially, like, the dude has not been thrown to the wolves yet. He only shows up once in a while and they massively play to the kid's strengths. They pulled the trigger at the right time and the rest was history.
I also thought Dom looked great at first, but man, being a weekly talent isn't doing him any favors.

Rey made the mistake of trying to pass his legacy onto a son instead of a nephew, the way it's meant to be done.

Someone mentioned Austin Theory earlier, but he was also pretty bland and boring during his first main roster run and his first stint in NXT. It wasn't until he joined The Way and started working with Johnny Gargano that he started to put everything together. I think Dominik could use something like that.
