Never understood the hate for Triple H and how a significant number of people could regard him as overrated. I think the fact that there are so many legitimate candidates for his greatest ever rivalry shows just how damn good Triple H was. I think it comes down to his insistence that he was THE guy. He was always best suited to be what I call a "Building" Champion. A perfect guy to carry the belt while you're building up new stars, but not the guy to carry the belt long term. His WWF Title run in 2000 while they were building Rock into a proper babyface is the most acclaimed title reign Triple H had. But then he had the Reign of Terror, which included his infamous 9 month WCW slayer reign. He always felt the need to put himself over young rising stars and kill their heat so they wouldn't take his spot. Yes there was brilliance between the stretches of his insistence on being the man, but those stretches are sadly the most memorable part of his career.

If you're measuring purely on how much hatred was involved, I'd say Jim Ross. You could power a city with the energy JR used hating on Hunter during his matches.

Yeah I have to go with The Rock. As people have said they battled their way up the card against each other and it culminated in them having a great feud in 2000 that was the great creatively and was drove enormous business for the WWF even though Austin was on the shelf.

Vs WrestleMania time management. Besides him jobbing to Warrior, every HHH Mania match feels like it's 12 hours long on the show.

Foley was the feud that made him as a main eventer, but I voted for The Rock for reasons given here.
They fought each other up the card, both benefitted.

On second thought, I think Batista in 2005 was his best program, but in terms of rivalry, It has to be The Rock.

It's got to be Foley. He's the guy who established him as something more than a gimmicky upper midcarder with the cheese of the "New Generation" all over him in 1997 and REALLY got him over as a top main event guy in 2000. Mick Foley made Triple H, no questions asked. Their Street Fight at MSG in 1997 became pretty legendary, especially when recalling it for their 2000 feud. My god that match at Royal Rumble was just something else.

It's the Rock because that feud is when Hunter was the top heel in wrestling and carried himself that way.
Foley is a close second, as that was a master class in how to make someone

There's a very good reason Triple H was the guy who The Rock feuded with the most. They always had great chemistry in the ring and on the mic

I want to say the Rock is his best rival.
I love that the feud lasted from the midcard throughout both men's rise to the top.
However my personal favorite is the Austin rivalry. I just love their matches together, they always looked so intense in the ring together. And in promos they seemed like they really hated eachother.
