I think the name has value and could sell tickets as a major event (I know they had the house show thing but bleh). I’m sure they were petty but also think it would of outshone wrestlemania, but they could of kept it as a Summerslam level event maybe

It wasn't a Vince creation, so it never would have been given any respect or prestige.

I think it would've been perfect, here's why:
~ Survivor Series be a brand warfare event ~ Starrcade be in December, ending the year and some major rivalries that have built up since SummerSlam ~ Royal Rumble kick off a "new season" leading into... ~ WrestleMania, which is still the big pay-off
You have 5 big PPVs and instantly get people invested between November-January, which is when a lot of fans disengage.

I still hate the Double R...I read that Dusty tried swiping the name from an arcade game tv show and that is why it is Starr instead of Star...

If they wanted to consistently treat it as one, sure, it'd have maybe been something, but if WCW couldn't consistently make Starrcade work, why would WWE be able to make it a priority?
I suppose it'd really come down to if they would do anything to make it feel like any more of a big deal than an Armageddon or other B or C-tier PPV.

I always thought it was going to happen but… It wasn't a Vince creation, so it never would have been given any respect or prestige.

I know that this is Vince Petty McMahon but he did use Clash of the Champions and Great American Bash for a while. Also, I know that this was a HHH decision, but they also used War Games and after Vince retired the GAB, HHH started using it.

I'm not sure that people who wanted Starrcade would have accepted it being just another ppv.

If they were to keep it, then I think they would probably have to move it from December. With Survivor Series in November and Royal Rumble in January (two of WWF/E’s big four) - you could not sandwich an event the magnitude of Starrcade in between and still retain its prominence.
Starrcade was basically WCW’s Wrestlemania (albeit as Starrcade came first, technically Wrestlemania was WWF’s Starrcade). If you wanted to carry over that prestige it would need some room in the calendar. So either drop Survivor Series, or move it to June to replace King of the Ring probably make the most sense.

They did those House Shows back in 2017, '18 and '19.
Why were they House shows and not Network specials is anyone's guess.

Speaking as a WCW mark originally... I don't get where the name comes from or what the f*** it means? Is there a really obvious pun i am missing?

Halloween Havoc is still the best theme ppv wcw came up with.

Yes.
It'd be much better than generic and/or stupid sounding "Premium Live Event" name they've come up with since.

Starrcade was to WCW what WrestleMania is to WWE. And since we have a WrestleMania, there’s no point in bringing it. Especially if it’s gonna be an afterthought. I’d rather have back the holiday themed PPVs, like Halloween Havoc and The Great American Bash.

I'd rather they kept Halloween Havoc, Bash at the Beach (always on a beach) and Road Wild.

Here's a crazy idea.
What if Starrcade was the name of NXT's show alongside Wrestlemania? It sounds better than Stand and Deliver and has name value.
