I put it in the Forbidden Door thread but this feels like a big enough deal to make it its own thing.
From what the translations say, it won't be a Japanese version but that will come and also will be fully included in present subscriptions.

But does that mean TV Asahi will start hunting AEW GIFs...
But thats big news, hope this results in more crossover between AEW and NJPW.

Yeah that's a big deal, I don't know what AEW's ventures are for looking for a streaming service, but it absolutely will give people some kind of market to view AEW shows who may not have had it before, and it will make crossovers more seamless for Japan viewers when NJPW starts using more stars, like Switchblade I would assume in the future and maybe Suzuki with the TV title
It's definitely big news though, shows this partnership is serious and not going anywhere.

This is huge news and it's so refreshing to see wrestling companies working together for the benefit of the fans instead of trying to run each other out of business.
That AEW/NJPW supershow is one step closer too, I'd imagine.

This reminds me of the buzz back before it was confirmed that Khan had bought ROH that he might have gotten permission to access an international company's video library, which would likely play into any streaming deals that Khan put together.
Obviously he's not going to own NJPW's library or something, but between this and the partnership with DDT/TJPW I'm starting to wonder if some kind of unique content deal has been struck involving multiple parties.

Mentioned this in the Forbidden Door thread, but Best of the Super Juniors is right around the corner in May. With talents like Yuta and Garcia working both AEW and STRONG shows, maybe the next step is to send some wrestlers over for these big New Japan tours. Though I don’t know if either of those guys can be gone for a month with what they’re each building.

Same. I’d wondered if they’d announce a streaming service with all parties involved. This a little different obviously, but wow. Crazy. That’s awesome.

Tony Shiavone has mentioned that HBO Max came to TK with a deal, but TK didn't like the money. I can't remember how far back that was. If you notice, TK in his media scrum and recent ratings tweet mentioned beating billion dollar companies. I think they're negotiating a deal with Warners/Discovery, HBO Max and Turner Networks involved, and now will most likely have the ROH library, the 3 years of AEW, DDT/TJPW, and New Japan content. I imagine if they made a deal with AAA, they really could sell Discovery on a really international brand, with a passionate and loyal fanbase. Now does the new Discovery guy respect wrestling enough, or does this go elsewhere. An HBO Max Pro Wrestling section would be amazing. Also, maybe a great place to put new episodes of ROH weekly.

At least it's a way to access a significant chunk of their backlog I guess, though do hope they can work something out for PPVs soon.

That's absolutely huge for an international partnership. If anything I'm surprised it wasn't with Cyberfight's service since DDT and TJPW already have a partnership with AEW. I guess it's a matter of reach?
As for a domestic streaming partnership, Warner's in the middle of a merger with Discovery so any negotiations for HBO Max are on hold until that's complete.

Interesting. Iirc he said there was something to come with the cyber fight deal in this area too.
A service with all of them is becoming a real possibility. Hopefully whatever comes lives up to expectations and doesn't end up replacing some good services with worse, too expensive or region locked ones. Just trying not to get carried away because a service that's basically WWE network but with aew, RoH, NJPW, Stardom, DDT, tjpw, Noah and more? Holy shit that would be amazing. That's before before you get to supercards...
In the meantime this is cool on its own. If I'm paying a couple of quid for those ATM then might as well pay £4 more for NJPW world. Edit: ah shit it's region locked. Knew it was too good to be true.

There's a 13 hour time difference between Japan and the Eastern US and Rampage doesn't air live most weeks anyway, so probably not. Or they could and most people wouldn't notice.

This is a pretty big move because AEW is generally not watched in Japan. NJPW World subscribers can now see stuff they wanted to but couldn’t.

AEW was #4 or #5 in a Japanese fan poll within the last year of most popular wrestling companies, outpacing most Japanese promotions (and WWE was #21), so this is a great way to grow that fan base even more.

Some people in the western world either stay up late or wake up early to watch NJPW live. I also have heard a lot of UK fans stay up late to watch WWE. I don't see why there wouldn't be at least a small percentage of worldwide fans that would want to see AEW live.

This past week's shows are now up on New Japan World.
Sounds like though for now it's only for people in Japan

Internationally people have Fite, America obviously has TNT and TBS and there's many other international deals it'll likely intrude with. Especially in Japan's case, their specialized versions are being worked on for the long term.
