Yeah, I think Ruby is in a much better place in AEW, but HOW do you let her lose 3 big matches like this? Just dumb stuff.
Everyone kept saying Britt wasn’t gonna win. Of course she was.

I want to cut back in just to be completely sporting here and mention that Anna Jay / Jade Cargill f***ing blew in its own right. Don't want to let them off the hook. Though being fair Rosa / Deeb was very good. I haven't been watching as long as the rest of the board, so grain of salt and all that, but Rosa vs. Deeb is the best AEW women's match I've seen since I Started.

Everyone has the right to their opinion, but I genuinely cannot see how you could possibly say WWE used Ruby better than AEW has. WWE hardly used her at all.
The problem is, AEW is using her as a borderline JTTS themselves, and her momentum from switching companies is absolutely dead and buried.
AEW has used her poorly, and WWE’s booking of her was a complete and utter travesty.
You have to feel for her, because she’s such a cool, unique character, a good wrestler, and seems like a genuinely nice person. Like, it sucks nothing in the “big” companies has seemed to click with her

I'll say AEW has done a better job just for having the common sense to make her a face, but that's about it. You could also remember Ruby's WWE run like I do and like... realize how much better her AEW run is by comparison, she was a nothing jobber on a jobber trio... FOR YEARS. Losing some big matches sucks but SHE'S BEEN IN BIG MATCHES. Her big WWE feuds were breaking Ember Moon's Nintendo Switch and Natalya's Glasses... Mandy and Sonya were the ones who broke Ember's switch so she doesn't have even have that. Ruby actually was booked fairly decently in WWE her first couple of years. Liv and Sarah were booked like complete losers but Ruby was presented alright during that stretch. Got a PPV title match against Charlotte where she was hung and was booked to go over both Sasha and Bayley several times. It wasn't until 2020 when she came back from double shoulder surgery that things fell off a cliff as I think she went like her first six months without winning match. Then they reunited her and Liv and booked them like jobbers again. Only differences from their previous run was that they were now face jobbers instead of heel jobbers and Ruby was booked more as the weak link off the two as apposed to the heel version of the team where she was booked as the clear alpha. In AEW she's booked like a bigger deal but it's more frustrating in a way in that they book her more like a choke artist who can't win the big match to save her life. They might as well start calling her Buffalo Soho because she's basically like the early 90's Buffalo Bills with her constantly making the finals of tournaments only to come up short or just being a big match choker in general. I mean I would say she's used better in AEW but it's more closer to a lateral move then you think. It's kind of like asking what's worse for a sports team you like, a team who is a perennial loser who won't ever compete (WWE) or a team who makes the playoffs every year but always chokes and breaks your heart every time (AEW). It's hard to say which is worse as they both freakin suck.

Oh, AEW 100% uses Ruby better than WWE, like not even up for debate, no question. It's just that, "Uses her better," does not remotely mean the same thing as, "Uses her well."

Because when she actually does win something, it's a good story. I don't think Ruby can lose another big one mind you, Darby and Jungle Boy had the same sorta path, but they need to stick with her and hopefully they do, because she's so very easy to root for. That's assuming she actually is gonna win something someday, which given her track record thus far, LOL I'm not a huge Ruby fan or anything either, but her booking baffles me. She's over (or was, anyway), she's got a unique look, she's naturally likable, why make her look so inept?

At least with Ruby she made two Tourney Finals, going through good competition to get there, that makes her look more competent than most imo, she just needs to finally get over the hump Darby lost like three straight TNT Title matches before he finally won it, you can do this, you can play up the story and get them over said hump, I just hope that they do.

I do think Ruby will get a run with a title sooner than later. She's gotten to two tournament finals, won the casino battle royal thing, and has had title shots already. They're just, unfortunately, going to take their frigging time getting to the point per usual.

Alright, enough of this thread. Want to discuss something specific, make a specific thread about it.
