I'm not a fan of the series, but I'd to see them explore more Disney properties outside the usual Disney/Pixar bubble, like Marvel (MCU or comics), Star Wars, Scrubs, and Clerks: The Animated Series. Bolded text...you might get that (admittedly this could be just someone seeing what they want to see instead of what is actually there) Sora gets a Lightsaber Keyblade

You look like someone just shit in your cereal! BUNG! --------------- Sora: Nobody wields the Keyblade like I do! Not this little f***, NONE of you little f***s out there!! ---------------- *Goofy & Donald climbing up a building * Goofy: We're almost there. *Potted plant breaks on side* Donald: Why are we walking like this? *Camera pans to correct angle* --‐-------------- Randall: UP YOURS, SEPHIROTH!! *Gets Cup thrown at him*

Sorry for the necro, but I figured here would be a better spot for it than a new thread. The trilogy's been announced for Steam. People are also expecting this could mean more news on IV in the near future, but for now this is still a big one. ![](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GOEHJEXbwAAtY_l?format=jpg&name=large)

I always wanted to check out the kingdom hearts games. However, hearing that you basically needed a masters degree to sort through the story in order to play 3 stopped that. Here's hoping 4 is a bit more accessible.

Here's hoping 4 is a bit more accessible. A good chunk of the supplemental games can't even be played anymore unless one springs for the all-in-one package, which is still missing III's DLC and the rhythm game made almost solely to recap everything.

Honestly I stopped caring about the plot of this series like halfway through 2 anyway, though really even then the only games I’ve actually played to completion are 1 and 2. Played them many times but never had any real taste for the rest.

Not taking this at you in particular but I see a lot of people say this and it's sort of put me off if people are like "Oh, the story isn't important" and it's like...I'm playing an RPG. A very long one by all accounts, if there isn't some kind of plot investment needed or important to taking in the world you're playing in, I'll just play something else. It's that or be on my phone when the cutscenes happen and that doesn't feel like a great use of gaming time either.

It's that or be on my phone when the cutscenes happen and that doesn't feel like a great use of gaming time either. It probably helps that 1 and 2 are kind of the closest I come to caring about the plot in this series. Most of the rest, especially the, "Oh, shit, we accidentally wrote a complete ending in 2, uh, stick on some arbitrary bullshit to force a prequel in the for-ages-Japan-only rerelease," stuff that spawned Birth by Sleep, kind of loses me even at just a plot level but at least 1 I think on its own makes for an enjoyable enough, if basic and kind of scattershot experience (even if the voice acting is very of its time), and even while 2 I think is largely poorly written it does have its sequences that work well. Like in isolation I actually really enjoy the Twilight Town stuff and think it does a good job of setting a somber mood, even if it is kind of a failing that that stuff doesn't really impact the rest of the game at all and all of the follow-ups to it are pretty much completely dumb. Putting it this way, I generally won't skip cutscenes if I'm playing Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 (though it helps that honestly they're really actually pretty short by RPG standards), but not being able to skip cutscenes is a serious impediment to my ability to play Final Fantasy X.
