If Tha Pukka One Darren Burridge is coming back too, I might check it out. Always felt he should have amounted to more. Although the same can be said of a lot of that 00s British indie scene.

I went to a couple of the very early 1PW shows. I don't remember the names of the events but I know I saw AJ Styles vs Pac on one and AJ drop Corey Graves on his head with a Styles Clash at another. I met Christian at one as well and thankfully, he didn't ask about my father. I bailed out when the rumors of not paying talent and show cancellations really started gaining ground though so I personally never had any problems with tickets or anything like that.
Despite the fun I had at those shows, I wouldn't touch 1PW with a bargepole. I'm not quite sure how it's still managing to shamble on and why anybody would ever trust Gauntley ever again.

Paul Heyman used to have a payment plan for his guys in ECW. The plan was "I'll get you next time kid"

Also, it might shock you to hear, but a lot of the QTs from the tweet I’ve posted about are of talent going “No, that hasn’t happened yet, still waiting to be paid (insert amount here)”.
I know, Gauntley’s statement seemed so iron clad and full proof before then.

A lot has happened with 1PW this week. Talent and crew have either resigned or aren’t going to work the next show, Gauntley resigned himself leaving the company all but dead and an investigation has found he was using it as a front to embezzle money!
It’s the mid 2000s all over again!

That whole thread is incredible. By far the best bit in this vast catalogue of Gauntleyism is where he said he was leaving the company because he'd fallen down the stairs.

Folks, I have some sad news. The fun times are over; 1PW is dead. Again.
See you all again in 5 years for the next revamp!
EDIT: The funniest thing about all this is that, looking at it, it was almost a speedrun of the first 1PW run. Get a bunch of imports, crown a bunch of champions, scam the talent, scam the bookers, flee and then fold the company. But also the fact that it was all documented in a book.
It’d be like reviving ECW as a seperate thing, giving Paul Heyman financial control and then being surprised it dies 6 months in. Like, what did we really expect to happen here?
