I can only believe that if Flair had his way he would die in the ring, preferably in front of a ton of people after one more great match. I honestly don't think he ever imagined he'd live this long and he's not sure what to do with himself now that his career is over. It almost feels like if he can't be the Naitch then he's not interested in living.

Imagine being at a show and seeing Ric Flair actually die in the ring. That would just be traumatic and depressing.

Unless the guy is aware of Flairs plan to die, in which case I cant see anyone respectable wanting to be part of it.

Would you settle for a "Carolina Woostroyer?" Wooting Star Press? I'm picturing Flair trying to nail one off the top rope and im dying.

This has brought out a lot of complete dickheads online who seem to think he should be allowed to die in the ring if he wants to. Like... If I said "Hey I'm going to blow my brains out in a crowded room" everyone would try to stop me. But because Ric Flair says he wants to do literally the same thing there's people lined up to buy tickets 🤢.

Flair shouldn’t be in the ring but others like him get booked constantly. Hell, Flair belongs in a ring more than Lawler at this point.

I'm pretty sure it's going to end up being Flair and FTR vs. Lethal and Rock 'N Roll at Starrcast 5. That's my guess. Should it happen? No. Is it going to be one of those morbid curiosity kind of things for some people? Yeah.

His heart stopped beating for minutes. Flair never had that. Don’t get me wrong, neither guy should be in the ring. I just find the whole outrage thing a little much when tons of people who shouldn’t be in the ring regularly are. Hell, Canek just wrestled!

76 year old Vince McMahon had a Wrestlemania match against a celebrity this year. He may not deal with alcoholism like Flair does, but dude apparently had a long term love affair with cocaine that may or may not have ever ended, and reportedly barely sleeps.
If Vince is getting cleared I think it's tough to say Flair shouldn't be, but how badly do people really want to see him wrestle right now?

Not that I feel like Vince should be wrestling, but Vince also hasn't nearly *died* in the last handful of years

Lawler's incident was a one-time freak accident, and he's had no complications since then. He's gone as far to say that he feels like it never happened. Flair, though, actively has heart issues that are bad enough to require a pacemaker. Plus, he has health issues beyond his heart and almost died about 5 years ago.

Flair's talking all this shit but you just wait and see what Terry Funk has planned for him.

Honestly, there are probably enough Ric Flair fans left in the South East of the US to make this successful, especially if they build a halfway decent card around it. This will be more about the spectacle than the actual wrestling.

Yeah, Flair's had enough problems to make it slightly risky. That said, I don't think businesses would promote it if they thought he had a real chance of dying in the ring. It's crazy we're even talking like this because Flair should clearly have called it a day, but I think the Lethal videos show he can get away with like 3-5 minutes of something resembling wrestling.
