Like when Shawn Michaels won the 1997 Royal Rumble at the Alamo Dome.

Kurt Angle won the world title in Pittsburgh. Wasn't the biggest but it was a cool moment.

In terms of biggest crowd, it's gotta be Bulldog at SummerSlam '92.
I can't think of anything with a hometown crowd that would come close. The GA dome show was big, but not that big.

CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011 This was the 1st thing I thought of. I don't know why Vince doesn't do more moments like this. 99% of the time he prefers to embarrass the hell out of people in their Hometown. I don't know if he thinks that's heat or it's just his juvenile sense of humor. Either away it's stupid.

CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011 The biggest one I think. Rock beating Cena in Miami (although on paper is huge) didnāt feel as big as Punk MITB 11

Kerry winning the NWA Title in Texas. This is probably my pick, just for the emotion involved.

I was even thinking of mentioning that in the OP, but opted to keep it short and sweet with an example instead. Itās a big problem though. I get that you donāt always want to have the hometown hero win so you keep things unpredictable. But having the hometown hero lose so much more is just baffling.

Hard to ignore the Hart Foundation winning at Calgary Stampede.
Underrated one: Homicide ending Bryan Danielson's ROH title reign at Final Battle in New York City. Yeah, 'Cide is Brooklyn, not Manhattan, but it still counts and the crowd was absolutely dying to see him finally win the big one.

Kerry winning the NWA Title in Texas. This and Punk at MITB 2011 were the first things to come to mind.

CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011 Such a shame, this could have amounted to so much more in the long run. Still, a fantastic moment!

Kurt Angle won the world title in Pittsburgh. Wasn't the biggest but it was a cool moment. I feel like, in the context of the 9/11 attacks, this kinda has to be up there as far as WWE trying to make damn sure the audience had a āhappyā ending. Even if dude was on track to win it, the timing puts it over the edge.

Austin at this years Wrestlemania. X7 too. They wanted him to be a heel at the end of that one but the Texas fans kept cheering. This was the 1st thing I thought of. I don't know why Vince doesn't do more moments like this. 99% of the time he prefers to embarrass the hell out of people in their Hometown. I don't know if he thinks that's heat or it's just his juvenile sense of humor. Either away it's stupid. I get that you donāt always want to have the hometown hero win so you keep things unpredictable. But having the hometown hero lose so much more is just baffling. I wouldn't be surprised if wrestlers do win in their hometown more often than not but confirmation bias causes us to notice more when they lose. It's like how it's a pretty commonly held belief that someone getting beat down the week before a big PPV match increases their chances of winning the match when in actuality there's little to no correlation between standing tall on the go-home show and winning at the PPV.

Yeah, 'Cide is Brooklyn, not Manhattan, but it still counts and the crowd was absolutely dying to see him finally win the big one. That Stampede ending with all the Hart family in the ring was glorious. I wish wrestling or WWF or even Bret's career was a TV series and could have just ended with that moment.
