Should I wait for this version? Because I am also tempted to buy the PS4 port of RE4.
I feel that Capcom and RE Engine should have remade Code: Veronica, though. Oh well.

Buy the other versions Most likely this will be like RE2 where the game will still basically follow same paths but you're going to get a diff experience compared to before. The familiar story beats will be there but done differently

I imagine that Code Veronica will be the next remake. Not sure the audience is really there for a 5 remake - know it's the best-selling game in the series but it doesn't really seem like one anyone actually has nostalgia for - and remaking 6 would probably be too expensive to bother.

RE2make is for my money the best RE game. I think 4 is too modern to need one but if they upgrade it as hard as they did the last two then it could be amazing.
I will play every second of it regardless.

I can see them stopping at Code Veronica I think the audience is there for a 5 remake for sure but idk if they want to go through time and hassle to do it since that is a game you'd have to figure out the multiplayer aspect and all that

A 1 remake with the current engine would def sell tho there is the question can you really dip into that well again when you already did a remake and it is highly regarded 0 probably has less likely chance than 6. In theory you could shorten 0 and present it in a package with 1 tho you might piss some people off doing that who only strictly wants to play 1

It really isn't a proper Resident Evil 4 remake unless in the middle of doing it you accidentally remake Devil May Cry and Haunting Ground.

I agree that making it part of RE1 through DLC would be the better option. Maybe expand the train sequence and end it with crashing by the Spencer mansion instead, and have Rebecca meet up with Richard.

The Infected Dogs on the bridge and Regenerators scared the f***ing shit out of me when I first played 4, so can't wait to see how they look in modern graphics! Lmfao

I'd like a Zero remake just so they can fix all the issues it has.

I mean... it's fun, Rebecca is a fun character, but there's like large portions that are just not really essential to the over all plot. I do wish someone would leak the N64 version like they did the prototype versions of 1.5.

I guess I might get the original version of RE4 before the remake comes out.

When these games get remade it really messes with my head 😂 you see a lot of comments saying it's too modern but it'll be 20 years old soon and the equivalent would have been remaking the original Mario Bros. console game when Resi 4 was originally released!
I just can't compute those two time lapses being the same.

Given that Capcom's basically been a doing a new continuity with the remakes, I wouldn't be surprised if (even beyond the tone/gameplay changes) that there's going to be a stronger through line of the broader RE story with 4's remake; possibly with a stronger Umbrella connection than the original had.

I feel like the fact that Salazar looks somehow even more ridiculous is probably a good sign that this remake has a good idea of what makes RE4 tick and will be sticking to the spirit of it despite the darker presentation.

It feels like something that will probably be a marriage between the more grounded takes of the remakes while still having the one liners of the original. Cheesy, but probably not quite the campfest the OG experience was.
