Limited Run's entire business model seems to be just licensing out everything they f***ing can and then exploiting FOMO to get people to buy it.

I mean, it's not terrible...but at the same time it's not very good.
What I found amazing was the clamouring for Bubsy to come back a few years back, yet good franchises like Tomba and Gex continue to collect dust.

Bill and Ted is the power of Nostalgia... people played these terrible games as a kid... it's not really a FUN experience but it's still nostalgic.
I mean why else is TMNT for the NES on the Cowabunga collection. (even though I maintain it's not that bad or hard.)

Speaking of that event I got the crushing disappointment of seeing Glover listed then seeing it's just for doing a re-release of it on N64. Port Glover to Switch, cowards. I'm sure it's aged like milk but if it's cheap enough I'll buy it.

Also thanks to this thread I learned they re-released the Wii version of a Boy and His Blob... which was a wonderful game. That had a dedicated Hug button  |

(just whatever it took to get the license and for most of these it's probably pretty cheap) |

I've never had a big problem with Limited Run as a business model for older stuff. I think doing it with newer stuff or its own published titles is where I find it weird but then I'm not someone who buys physical games anymore.
I do want Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, though, so I don't know what that says about me.

The sadist in me wants an LJN compilation now. I mean, LJN did put out good stuff too. It's just that their shotgun style meant a lot of garbage stuff from outside developers was put out by them. You have to carefully sort through the crap to find a few gems. |

I sort of want to play that one, but only if I can do so while I have my wife watch. She had a hard time keeping interest when I wanted to see what kind of choices she'd make for Detroit: Become Human, but I have the feeling the sheer inept stupidity of PDWT would hold her interest a little better. I would not bother with the unedited stuff though, which may not have even been included with this version anyways. |

LRGs put out a port of Night Trap and it sold out in literal seconds. I started collecting games recently and was delighted to find a copy of ET for Atari in near perfect condition. I also plan to get Bubsy 3D and Superman 64. Bad games are important parts of the medium's history, and people like buying dumb things either as a laugh or to share with friends. You can also bet everything that when Ride to Hell: Retribution gets a re-release tons of people will be all over it.
