Could Bam Bam Bigelow have fit in during the Attitude Era?

After Bam Bam left ECW in 1998, he went to WCW. It wasn't a long gap, either, as he appeared at November to Remember that year and also appeared at a house show, and then next thing you see he appeared on Nitro. His introduction felt like an invasion of some sort.

But what if he went back to the WWF? I mean, he was only there three years prior, as his last appearance was at Survivor Series and he left ECW in November of 1998. Do you think he could have fit in? I mean he was in ECW, which kind of was the influence to Attitude. Part of me wonders that one of the influences he had to going to WCW was his longtime connection to DDP, as I had heard in that podcast interview with Steve Austin that DDP had known Bam Bam since he was young. I know that if he had returned in 1998, it was different from the New Generation, but it wasn't like some people had left once the direction changed. I remember that Mabel had returned and wasn't used for months until January and then became Viscera.

Well i didn't watch much of bam bam after he left wwf but if he could still go in the ring the same then yeah i think he could have been great in the attitude era.
Maybe not a top guy but definitely a solid mid to upper mid carder.
Would definitely have needed to change his look up but could have been a great fit

Probably would have been a great Corporation enforcer with the Bossman or perhaps a Ministry guy.

I think he could've worked in the Attitude Era, I didn't mind Bam Bam and think he could've worked as part of the Corporation.

I don’t think he needed to be part of the Corporation. Just make him the guy he always looked like without the flame print bodysuit.

He could have been Sons of Anarchy before it was an over saturated pop culture reference.

Sons of Anarchy I'd have been ok with as something for Bam Bam.

If he was sober, yeah, probably, especially once Shawn was gone. He had a decent WCW run at around the same time, so it isn't like he just fell off the face of the earth.

I don't think he'd be a top guy, exactly, but I could easily see him getting the Hardcore or European title or something like that, along with occasionally getting matches with guys they were grooming for top spots.

Bam bam worked through the attitude era so yeah. As for how well would he work? The dude was a pill poppin zombie at this point and Probably would’ve been as effectual as he was in wcw and that is to say not at all.

Bam bam worked through the attitude era so yeah. As for how well would he work? The dude was a pill poppin zombie at this point and Probably would’ve been as effectual as he was in wcw and that is to say not at all.

I think that's giving him too little credit. He definitely wasn't setting the world on fire, sure, but between the Jersey Triad and having the Goldberg feud, it was still better than what a lot of guys had going for them at that time.

Austin or Rock vs. Bam Bam could have been fun. A McMahon hired gun.

Also could see him having fun feuds with Shamrock, Venis, D-Lo, maybe Edge. He'd have been really effective at elevating new guys.

I feel like he had two chances with WWF and really blew both of them. He came in almost immediately as a main eventer and after the knee injury when he was healthy he decided to go to JCP. So WWF is burned once, no pun intended. Only one prior who came in to such fan fare in the newer WWF I think was Macho Man.

Then his 1990s wasn't exactly much to write home about. Other than the Doink and Tatanka feuds, he had no feuds. And those were kind of just thrown together to give them all something to do. I wouldn't count LT as a feud. And when things weren't going his way, he wanted out of his contract. Understandable but #2 burn for WWF.

He wasn't exactly a guy WWF should trust with a long term contract and since he was around 10 years prior, he'd have some sort of ancient way about him unless he could reinvent himself. And with his look, I doubt he could. He's probably a guy who would have been better in the territory system 10-20 years earlier, going from place to place for 6 months to a year before moving on.

Yes. He always had a great look, big guy with a tattooed head and that cool fire bodysuit. He would have been used well as a henchman for The Corporation or the Helmsley-McMahon regime.

I agree. Despite having a completely unique look and being damn good in the ring, he never caught on in WWF like he should have.

No idea how he did in WCW or ECW.

Only if he took it over. From what I remember, that lineup wasn’t very impressive.
