It's the same.
The creative might be better, but all the actual bad stuff is still going to be around. They're still a branch of the Saudi government propaganda machine, and they're still going to "cost cut" their "independent contractors" on a whim. So potentially better creative isn't exactly the big boon to get me back on board.

Like a 7 or 8. W/o Vince around it’s just..a wrestling show. WWE had been unwatchable since..what? 2016? 2017? I watched it for the schadenfreude and train wreck appeal. Now? It’s a wrestling show. Some good. Some great. Some bad. That’s all I can ask for from any wrestling company not named CYN.

I had been hopeful after Summerslam. Then I saw the first hour of RAW tonight.
Shame on me for thinking it'd actually be better than the same shitty RAW it's always been.

I went with a 3, up from the 1 they've been since covid. Io and Dakota coming back suggests racism might be less of an issue and maybe they won't be so quick to release people. Plus Michael Cole is apparently ok now. Just generally away from Vince's iron grip.

I went with 6 based largely off of the strength of that Summerslam. It's a direction I'm cautiously optimistic about, but there is still a lot of rot in WWE that needs carving out. They're making some of the right decisions, but this is also kind of the easy part. Consistency's going to be a real test.

Maybe like a 3 or 4. I'm paying a little closer attention from a far, but until they fix the camera work, I'll never be a regular viewer no matter how good the creative is. That shit is unwatchable for me.

What we're seeing less of are stupid throwaway segments like 24/7, doing a 3 minute backstage segment reintroducing Cedric Alexander just to have him get squashed in one minute on TV. The Riddle/Rollins segment on Summerslam was awesome. That kind of thing wouldn't happen in Vince's booking, they would have just pulled the match and tried to restart it on Raw. That interaction was red hot and made me want to see those two in the ring.
It certainly isn't perfect, but they are trying to make everyone important.

I mean, if you're a pro wrestling fan (like me) you gonna love Triple H's WWE. If you're a sports entertainment fan...not that much
Everybody who watched his NXT knows he doesnt like the corny stuff and those who can't wrestle to save their lives
In 2 weeks we have not seen the 24/7 stuff, Ezekiel/Elias, Omos...
I can't wait for a "Triple H doesnt like fun" thread here in the near future lol

HHH seems to be building for the future. We're seeing people called up, brought back, and getting pushed.
I can only hope we continue to see more. Ricochet, Gargano, and others who HHH was high on in NXT hopefully can get pushed.

Some Vince things unfortunately remain: renaming (Iyo Sky) and saying “sports-entertainment” during a recent Smackdown, that will hopefully be phased out soon.

Gargano is real 50/50 in my view, yes he has friends in WWE and H likes him he also has friends in high places in AEW and would have work way less with a young child...to me it's a real guess as to where he ends up.

More excited about the future than I was 2 weeks ago.
TV14 and the change in creative is promising.

5 - I trust that the shows will be generally fine. Certainly less annoying/silly to watch week to week. But there's a lot of work they need to do to actually build compelling storylines and new stars to make their shows not feel like a slog to get through. I want a definitive creative vision out of the new regime.

8. I started watching again last July after not really paying attention from 2014 to 2021, and I gotta say, it's a lot better than it was when I first started watching as a kid. Replacing Vince's skeevy ass with HHH, who's already pushing the likes of Io/Dakota/Ciampa, is a huge plus too.

HHH in charge just means more of the smark-pandering that drove me away from wrestling as a whole. Miss me with that shit.
