Why does this thread exist? What answer is there besides various forms of "no?"
The Rock is arguably the best draw of all time.

Not even really a fair comparison to be honest. Rock all the way.
Both in terms of how huge the pop was and also the huge boost he did for THREE straight Wrestlemania's.
Idk if anyone could beat that return.

Rock's first WrestleMania back had a 20% jump in buyrates even though he wasn't even wrestling. The next WrestleMania (where he was main eventing) put up PPV numbers like Mike Tyson in his prime. The year-to-year jump from WM26-28 was higher each time than the total amount of buys for All Out 2021 He was also a massive TV draw upon returning. The first Rock/Cena confrontation being watched by over 7 million people live is crazy considering the timeframe. That's peak attitude era level numbers and he did it in 2011. Then a year later he broke the all-time wrestling PPV record which will likely never be broken now. The hype behind that Rock/Cena match was unlike anything in wrestling since Rock/Austin in 2001 or the Invasion angle that same year before they blew it. This hurts to read as someone that would have responded to this in 2011 like PUNK WAS IN ROLLING STONE IDIOT HE'S BRINGING THE MAINSTREAM BACK

Why does this thread exist? What answer is there besides various forms of "no?" Yep. It's easier to compare the two return segments from a creative standpoint. But Punk can't compete with Rock's drawing power. He *is* a draw, but Dwayne's got far bigger and many more movies under his belt than Girl On The Third Floor that non-fans will recognize him by.

I remember the special guest host was heavily rumored to be f***ing Justin Bieber so when Rock's music hit not only was everybody glad it was him, everyone was also happy as hell it wasn't Bieber as well....

ATTITUDE ERA, WHO? Honestly I saw way more Punk merch on campus during the 400 day reign a year later. And I ran into more people with WM28 or Cena or Rock gear. Remember, Voice of the Voiceless was still in the middle of the Rock/Cena buildup.

For me, even if you set aside the numbers, it’s still no.
I thought Rock was done after becoming that big of a star. I always thought Punk would return, especially after AEW came into existence.
