God, I remember a time I thought Anderson was going to win the IWGP title and be the next big foreign star. What the f*** was I thinking? It wasn't irrational. Like, yeah, I get it, the Good Brothers wore out their welcome with a lot of people due to overuse, but there's some heavy-duty revisionism going on with some people to pretend Anderson, especially, wasn't a big deal. Like, he was one of the Bullet Club leaders, "Bad Intentions" and the team with Gallows were both pretty damn successful, and he did enjoy singles success. Man, that WWE "run" really soured people, and I don't think they've recovered from it since.

Yeah Anderson was a pretty big deal, and the Good Brothers were still insanely hot when they left New Japan for WWE. I think the Impact run kind of soured people where even as multi time tag champs, they've really been protected but it doesn't seem like they really did much of note.... honestly the most noteworthy thing they did aside from being backup to Kenny Omega was their recent Briscoe feud.

Looks pretty compact, although that's pretty understandable given the scheduling and Stardom would be coming off a big tournament already. They're hyping the foreign wrestler (s) as "super big name(s)" and will announce at the Stardom Korakuen show on the 27th.
NJPW says two are “Europe’s best” if that’s a hint.

Bit crap that they implied we were getting stardom talent now it seems it'll be local talent.

First Mutoh, now this. I think it's been recognized that he's going to be a big part of the Japanese wrestling scene for years to come, so they look good in giving him the rub this way (albeit it's also possible that NJPW is just pushing him this way while setting up more concrete plans for him for next year), if they need to make business like this in the future.

Guessing it doesn't hurt he's been getting over, in part due to the heroism, and in part since he seems to live his gimmick in a fun way. I also imagine he's maybe one of the easier guys to work with for older wrestlers. O-Khan's really good, but a lot of his moves aren't demanding a ton from his opponent. It's a lot easier to take O-Khan's Mongolian chops and claw holds than it is to flip for Ospreay or get slammed by Jeff Cobb.

Ugh, I was one day late on the NYC pay per view presale, and the cheapest seats left are in the balcony for $325 before Ticketmaster fees.
No way in hell I'm dropping that much, especially when I'm hoping to be spending ticket money on Mets playoff tickets that month.
I'll just hope against hope there's some shot at the secondary market, but given the size of the Palladium and how much they'll likely run I'm not holding my breath.

I love Oka. My only concern for his career is how he'll fit in amongst the trees in New Japan. He's 31, which isn't old (and his style could let him perform another 20 years barring injury), but with Okada, Jay, Ospreay, ZSJ and SANADA all in his age range, it will be tough for him to break through. Plenty of the roster is entering their 40s, but still plenty active too. Then you have Umino, Narita, Tsuji and Uemura around the corner.
This is one of those times I wish the IC belt was still around. The IWGP US is in the role now, but it's really stuck to guys they can't give the world title to at the moment. O-Khan is perfect for the NEVER title, but it feels like they are going to draw out this Tama/BC storyline thru Wrestle Kingdom with that belt.
Hell, give my man the KOPW trophy and have him bring it everywhere on the road to becoming the new Makabe.

There’s a reason any singles matches Tenzan has had in the past two years was with O-Khan. Tenzan can hardly take a bump anymore. No way you have him in there getting thrown around by Cobb or keep up with Ospreay.

It’s also good to have O-Khan facing Nagata to protect him.
Nagata’s was just in the All Japan Royal Road tournament and I hate to say that he looked ROUGH out there.
Still trying his best. He’s not half-assing it. Blue Justice never does but the years have finally caught up to him.
