So this movie has had decent legs so far and has already crossed $25 million without releasing internationally yet. $6.8 mil, $6.6 mil and $4 mil over it's 3 weekends, with the first 2 being 4 day long weekend numbers

Saw this last night and man the 2nd half of the movie is just hit after hit in terms of emotion. I was a mess by the end and this was even knowing what was coming. I can’t imagine what this film was like to watch as a non wrestling fan. The scene with Kerry’s foot reveal I imagine shocked a lot of people watching.
The omission of Chris I felt was unnecessary and I actually feel the film could have benefited from an extra half hour to explore Kerry’s downfall a little more. He wins the IC Belt then in the next scene he’s a mess. I know the film shows his struggles with his foot but I feel he needed more time.
I don’t need to go into Ric Flair. It’s awful we know. The guy who played Harley Race was fantastic. MJF being it it for seconds seemed a massive waste. The relationship between the brothers was well handled and I can’t fault the performances of any of the Von Erich family actors. I knew the last line was coming from Kevin as well and it still killed me.
The end credits song as mentioned was excellent. Very emotional song that fit it perfectly.

I finally watched this and I was a bit disappointed, so much was left out.
The timeline felt really disjointed, Kevin gets married and David dies 5 minutes later when in reality that was 4 years apart. There were pretty decent periods of time between the deaths and this movie made it feel like they just happened back to back to back...
I felt like they really didn't explore Kerry at all, he's in pain mentions and curse and kills himself...when the reality of that situation was he got dumped due to the steroid trials and he was a heavy user so he couldn't be there...his wife left him, the movie doesn't explore him having a family at all......oh and he had forged a bunch of painkiller scripts so he was looking at prison time. Kerry, at least in my view, thought his life was over. His wife and kid were gone, he was going to prison..his career was probably over because of that...but none of that is explored at all.
Matter of fact they really didn't dive into any of the boys drug problems at all. No mentions of the rowdy ridiculous shit they were constantly causing.
It's a safe movie that I'm sure is fine if you don't know the story. But where I felt like they went with the legacy feel good biopic this really should have been a story about a cautionary tale of a father pushing his kids to hard while they also got away with murder. And how eventually no consequences ends poorly for everyone.
