They also kind of had Bianca run through most of the women on Raw even BEFORE she won the title. So from Day 1 of her reign, the number of credible challengers was limited. Heck Bianca had already decisively beaten Bayley multiple times before this feud. Bayley’s last feud before getting injured, was her putting over Bianca. Which happened after another feud where Bayley also put over Bianca. It's kinda interesting how much of Bianca's time on the MR has been winning feuds with the HW. People talk about WWE speed running giving Charlotte accolades. But in just over 2 years on the MR, Bianca has already achieved almost every accolade a woman in WWE can, and beaten almost every big man in the roster as well.

If the issue is Belair simply winning competitive matches (anyone thinking she’s actually squashing these women is being wilfully dense, you know what squashes look like), then how bad is someone coming in and actually squashing her gonna look? Like, if someone beats her in 20 seconds… f***, the other people should probably lose in 10, right?

It also attracted a lot of unwanted attention when people compared it to what happened to Kofi vs Brock and led to people asking if WWE just really hated black champions or something. Ending championships by squash is rarely a great idea, anyway, unless you're doing it to a Honky Tonk Man-type who has brought it on themselves by being a coward. Doing it to a face who is a fighting champion (for better and worse) is just never going to be received well.

Just ask Sheamus.

People also fixated on Charlotte's number of titles, ignoring how many of her reigns (especially between 2018 and mid-2021) were strictly transitional.

Yeah, after thinking about it more, all of the women get the short end of the stick with the limited roster size. Bianca running through opponents consistently would be fine if the rosters were merged or Raw had a larger women's division. Good point about Okada, he had a wide range of challengers, as did Cena during runs like his 2007 world title and US title runs, so that helped make those reigns more compelling. Same with Bret Hart in 1992.

Same with Bret Hart in 1992. Yeah, it's an unfortunate reality that wanting to book the men and women's division the same in the vast majority of promotions just isnt' really feasible yet given that most women's rosters are smaller, plus the fact we're really only about a decade into western wrestling finally taking women more seriously as performers again after, yeesh, something like 50+ years of doing the opposite. That means having a lot less experienced talent around to lean on, e.g. the kinds of wrestlers you can have act as 20+ year veteran ring generals to bring rookies along and whatnot. WWE then just further reducing their roster by splitting them between shows doesn't really help matters for them. As for Bianca potentially losing in a squash, to use the Okada example again it could work, but as always you need to have a story in mind when doing it. Okada won his first title in a shockingly easy win against super-champ Tanahashi, and it cemented him as the Rainmaker and rising ace; Tanahashi won the title back as part of a story where Okada's victory forced him to refocus and humble himself after getting too big a head as champ, but now Okada was cemented as a top player, too. If WWE wanted to, they could build to a new, lesser known woman unseating Bianca in a similarly shocking manner; play up that this new woman, whomever she may be, is wrestling a style Bianca hasn't really dealt with a lot before, or is focusing on some kind of weakness others haven't been able to exploit, something that could throw her off her game, then in the aftermath you could potentially build to a more competitive rematch where both wrestlers adjust their game and approach the next match differently, etc. But there has to be some kind of plan in mind, otherwise, yeah, she's stuck running through the roster and not really having anything fresh on the horizon, because there's only a small number of legitimate contenders and she needs a new opponent every month or two.

It's complicated even further by her promos not being particularly compelling unless she has someone to play off. This issue mattered less during Becky's run on top because they could just have her cut promos some weeks.

I have said this plenty already but to repeat it , Bianca has no flaw and is the worst kind of babyface you can have.
She can do everything , she can overcome any situation immediately and there is no one that is allowed to be on her level and no one comes out of feuding with her better for it because of that.
And that last one IMO is the most vital thing when anyone wants to do a super long title reign...is that talent the perverbial tide lifting all boats? if not then there is no need for that person to be holding any title this long with this pre-crisis superman booking.
