WCW vs The World.
I then did my best to look up Great Muta, which eventually got me to watching old NJPW stuff, AJPW stuff, the works.

I would say sometime in the mid-2000s because I had no way of watching it before discovering YouTube.

Not counting wrestlers appearing on WCW or in another US company, or reading about it in various books and magazines, my first time going to the source was in 2005 or 2006 when KENTA was absolutely tearing it up in NOAH along with Marufuji and it made me fall in love with that promotion and puro in general.

TNA working with Japanese companies. Though the 2008 X-Cup team Japan, the IWGP Tag/Junior Tag titles, and random guys like No Limit & Tanahashi didn’t leave much impression. ROH working with NJPW years later (Steen vs Nakamura) would leave more impression.
