It doesn’t necessarily have to be the best song ever, just that its use in a particular scene or moment in a film is perfect for that moment. I’ll start with a few.
Almost Famous - Tiny Dancer The fractured band reunite on the tour bus after a difficult night. They don’t speak to each other but say everything that needs to be addressed through a sing-along of Tiny Dancer.
Kick-Ass - Battle Hymn of the Republic Hit Girl is cornered and outnumbered, then Kick-Ass appears at the window on a jet pack with Miniguns attached and clears the room. Whilst Elvis belts out “Glory, Glory Hallelujiah”
Rushmore - Ooh La La We get to the ending which is happy and also slightly uncomfortable. Max goes to take his new girlfriend for a dance and The Faces start up.
X-Men Days of Future Past - Time in a Bottle Quicksilver clears the room as Jim Croce sings. It would have been a great scene already but they chose the perfect song to make it an amazing one.
Our Friends in the North - Don’t Look Back in Anger After thirty years the four friends are reunited and then go off to live the rest of their lives. Nicky, Mary and Tosker seem to know where they’re heading but Geordie doesn’t really know what’s next. He walks over the Tyne Bridge as Oasis kicks in.

Always enjoyed the Doors “The End” in Apocalypse Now!
Plus, it’s the uncensored version, which didn’t exist beforehand.

Enjoyed the use of "Freebird" at the end of "The Devil's Rejects".
"Inna-Gadda-Davida" during the end of Michael Mann's "Manhunter".

Oh and it’s a bit of a blanket statement but….
Any use of a song in an Edgar Wright film. Particular mentions to Happy Hour in The World’s End and Hocus Pocus in Baby Driver.

Warrior - About Today
Song by The National. Song from what I gather from the lyrics is about someone that feels there were really close to losing someone they care about forever in some way. Felt it fit really well in the final fight scene.

The Fray - How to Save a Life on Scrubs.
Excellent use of this song paired with amazing performances by the cast particularly John C. McGinley make for an emotional scene...

Bob Dylan's The Times They Are A-Changing in the opening montage of Watchmen might be my all time favorite movie opening.

Can't Help Falling In Love by Lick The Tins at the end of Some Kind Of Winderful. As if the realization Keith & Watts was meant to be wasn't enough to have happy tears? Play the music.

Ooh gosh, that’s tough.
I feel you could list a majority of examples from Tarantino but “Freedom” by Anthony Hamilton in Django instantly comes to mind.
“Ain’t no Mountain High Enough” in “Stepmom”
“Come and Get your Love” in GOTG. And “The Chain” in GOTG2
I feel I could list all the songs in “Garden State” (gotta shout out my pretentious coming of age movie, sorry) but I’ve gotta give it to “Let Go” by Frou Frou at the end. Purdy much perfect.
“I’m shipping up to Boston” - The Departed
“Una Palabra” in Man On Fire
“Dreaming of You” at the point its used in Selena is perfect use of it.
“Festival” by Sigur Rós at the end of 127 Hours.
“Clair De Lune” in Oceans 11 and "Thé à la Menthe" in Oceans 12
“Shadow in..” the f***ing..”Sun” in Collateral. Gives me chills just thinking of it.
“Cells” - The Servant for Sin City
“All These Things That I’ve Done” in Southland Tales
“Porcelain” in The Beach.
“Grew Up At Midnight” - Jobs.
So, so many I can’t remember but there’s few things better than a well placed song in a scene.

The 2013 Lone Ranger movie was pretty crap, but the ending chase/fight scene on the train set to the "William Tell Overture" is actually quite awesome. It almost (almost) redeems the movie.
The ballad version of a-Ha's "Take on Me" that shows up in Deadpool 2 is also excellent, doing a great job of accentuating the emotion of the scene while still balancing it with the over-all goofy tone of the movie and character.

I love the use of 'Living on a Thin Line' by the Kinks, in the Sopranos episode "University". An ominous song that bookends a horribly disturbing episode.
