At the time I still would go with the WCW BATB card as I thought the main event was entertaining and a solid undercard, though I did enjoy the IYH main event tremendously.

Bash at the Beach. Much more interesting card overall. The only thing I like about Canadian Stampede is the main event.

It's hard because looking back, Canadian Stampede is probably a top ten WWF ppv of all time. That said, I'd still probably go with Bash at the Beach.

I know Canadian Stampede ended up being legendary but at the time I think I'd definitely have chosen BATB.
WWF in the non-big 4 months is at a bit of a disadvantage though around 95-97. The In Your House shows were cheaper and shorter with sometimes only a few matches (CS only had 4!) while every WCW PPV felt like a full card and a "big" show. I would usually choose WCW just based on pure quantity. I think it was late 1997 when they finally started doing full 3 hour IYH shows which I think made them feel bigger and less like glorified TV specials.

I would have went with Bash at the Beach. Though I was always a WWF fan and enjoyed them in 1997, I was very much entrenched in WCW at the time.

Stampede is basically a one match show. BATB you had Rodman, a classic Luchador Six Man, as well as the final chapter in the Benoit/Sullivan saga.

I'd go with Canadian Stampede, Austin VS Hart Foundation was incredible at the time (Still is) and Rodman had go away heat for me plus the Spring Stampede Undercard didn't do anything for me really.

WWF. Even as a kid, I found the Rodman stuff in WCW puzzling, so even placing myself back then, it'd still be WWF.

Road Wild.
Aside from Summerslam's main event, the card is pretty lackluster. Road Wild is stacked.

Road Wild. Even if it was a horrible financial decision for the company I always loved the look of the outdoor shows.
I don't think that Summerslam card would've done a lot for me. I found the Bret-Taker match at RR the previous year really boring and Austin-Owen felt like a bit of a step backwards. Austin already felt way above the IC title by this point and to go from feuding with Bret for nearly a year to then feuding with a lesser member of the Hart Foundation stable seemed a bit weird.

Summerslam for me, I felt that WWE were on fire at the time.
WCW was getting boring for me, especially with the older stars occupying the main event positions
