Calling the locker room "sacred" sounds like some old school BS. Kayfabe is dead.
Now if he wants to be able to dress out and prepare for his match without unnecessary people underfoot I get it. When I used to be a stage manager it was no unnecessary people backstage and green/dressing room.

I think he's yelling at clouds... but at the same time why would you want your lover and/or kids in a locker room where dongs and stuff will be flopping around and people are taking showers and getting oiled up. Stupid question because I don't know the answer: In like the NFL or NBA, are the locker rooms full of wives/kids as well? No. No locker room is full of anyone except those who belong there.

What if every time one of these old bitches fill their diapers in rage of something f***ing stupid, they were exiled from society and forced to live on a trash island?
I think we should look into that.

I can see what he's getting at, and from an anthropological standpoint it makes total sense.
A sacred space, created through ritual, is dedicated to those things that are deemed special. It allows them to have a sense of community with shared norms, rules, and values.
Humans and animals alike do this.

The makeup of a sports locker room is considerable different than it was 30 years ago.

Stupid question because I don't know the answer: In like the NFL or NBA, are the locker rooms full of wives/kids as well? Partners and kids are behind the curtain a lot (see: Steph Curry and his daughter when he did press conferences and the like), but the actual locker room was athletes only. But those are actual locker rooms. I agree that partners and kids shouldn't be around communal locker rooms where multiple wrestlers are walking around naked and shit. But the higher tier folks get private locker rooms that are, essentially, more like a celebrity dressing room.
Morton just comes off like he hates partners and kids being backstage at all.

I sort of get it. I wouldn't want my immediate family to walk in on Jimmy Valiant under a glass table. Robert might though...

This is just laying the groundwork for Ricky Morton joining Imperium.

So, he probably misses it for a "the way things used to be" reason. And in a wrestling locker room that could mean anything from guys playing cards to guys taking drugs.
That said, locker rooms should be limited to those who are performing, be it wrestling, pro sports, or concerts, for reasons mentioned above.

I read Foley's book. I recall how Rip Rogers pulled down his pants and chased around a couple guys butthole-first after they joked about sodomizing him.
Not exactly my definition of sacred.

Well scared is probably the wrong word, but that happens in every dressing men are in. At least in North America. I know that because I've been in them and had no adequate explanation for my Irish friend who wondered why in the hell would anyone want to sit around with a bunch of sweaty, naked men nursing a beer when you could get showered as quickly as possible and go to the bar and drink there? When you put it like that... On the other side of the coin, there was, they may still exist, I don't know, a group of mainly teachers who formed a hockey team. One of them was my former 5th grade teacher. I remember thinking, it's completely f***ed up I am now the authority figure. Telling him to please leave so the next group can change and quit drinking because it's against the rules. It's really weird yelling at some guy referring to him as Mr. Last Name, like you did as a child and he goes "Ok Cole..." sheepishly.

Assuming he means the general backstage area and not only the literal shower and locker area it's totally an old man situation. Kayfabe is thankfully dead and should never be allowed to return. Let it go Rick

Wait, you mean the big stars really do get their own dressing rooms? I thought that was just something made up for kayfabe and they all shared the same locker room (well, seperated by gender that is).
