Just took a quick glance at my YouTube feed and I saw a dude who said that he had never watched an episode of Scooby Doo and even he thought it was bad. Largely due to the bad writing and characters.
This show is getting ripped apart from almost all angles.

Mindy's been getting dragged by South Asian Twitter all day (probably all week) on Twitter. I feel like we're gonna look back on this like one of Todd in the Shadows' Trainwreckords, but the television version. It's Bandobras and Rockstar, respectively, if you all were wondering. "Burn It To The Ground" and "San Quentin" are both solid Nickelback songs. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I'll always have a soft spot for "Hero".

My honest feeling on Nickelback is that the meme that they're terrible is really an exaggeration. They're mid, not terrible.

This thing just seemed like a turn down bad idea street from the jump.
EDIT: So, I decided to actually watch the first episode.
It was bad. Really, really bad. Like, 'who f***ing greenlit this?' bad.

All it took for the world to come together in unity was a really awful show.

Any time a backlash like this happens I think "oh great must be the usual misogynist/racist troll subjects" but then I read about it a little more and was like "OH NOOOOO"

'This is terrible and bad and no good, SJWs!' 'We know!' 'Come on! Don't you want to defend it? It's woke!' 'No thanks, and you call everything woke.' 'Aww. Come on, I need content!'

So..it got a second season greenlit? After all the reactions? Lol. Gotta respect the hustle or something.

I think it could've had a chance of being decent if anyone remotely talented at writing comedy was in charge of it. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Considering the second season was allegedly greenlit last week, and the show only debuted last week, it seems like they had already decided the show would have another season regardless of reception. Which is genuinely maddening, when you consider how many shows that actually have audience approval that they cancelled just last year.

I decided to watch some of it.
I deeply regret the decision. I've seen some rotten things in my time and this nearly top my list of worst animated shows.

So, I've seen this paragraph from an article floating around the last couple days, and I found the original article yesterday. It was posted last year, and it seemed to be a list of internal casting notes for the show. I've been hesitant to buy into it 100%, since the site itself seems to be attached to some crypto/NFT bullshit, but it also predicts a lot of details that weren't public knowledge until the last couple days, like Shaggy being black, Daphne having two moms, and Velma's parents being divorced. I'm still holding my breath over these character descriptions, but if they're real, holy shit are they doing Fred dirty: linkWow, I know Fred is basically joked and referred as the generic guy, but that is despicable how he's being treated. I mean, he was a joke in A Pup named Scooby Doo and was the butt of some kind of creepy parodies in Cartoon Network bumps, Venture Bros., and I assume Robot Chicken took the piss out of him at some time too.

There was also trap-obsessed Fred in Mystery Inc.

I cannot comment on Velma as I had not seen it, but if it is garbage and Discovery renewed it shortly after cancelling Young Justice, that would definitely be a series of choices they could have made.
