Good that Gabriel Kidd seems to be in a better place now.

I was never the biggest Naito fan to begin with but he is starting to give Mutoh circa 2008 vibes. Can still be good but, he’s never going to be the guy he was ever again.

Late on it but that Narita/Ishii match was awesome. Narita's getting the rocket and rightfully so

Full card for Historic X-Over:
IWGP Women’s Championship: KAIRI vs. Mayu Iwatani IWGP United States Championship: Will Ospreay vs. Shota Umino Great Muta’s final NJPW match: Great Muta, Toru Yano & Kazuchika Okada vs. United Empire (Great-O-Khan, Aaron Henare & Jeff Cobb) Los Ingobernables de Japon (Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA & BUSHI) vs. United Empire (Mark Davis, Kyle Fletcher, TJP, Francesco Akira & Gideon Grey) Utami Hayashishita & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Maika & Hirooki Goto MelTear (Tam Nakano & Natsupoi) & Suzuki Gun (Taichi & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) vs. Black Desire (Starlight Kid & Momo Watanabe) & Suzuki-Gun (El Desperado & DOUKI) Syuri & Tom Lawlor vs. Giulia & Zack Sabre Jr. Queens’ Quest (Lady C, AZM & Saya Kamitani) vs. Donna Del Mondo (Mai Sakurai, Himeka & Thekla) CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI, YOH & Lio Rush) vs. HOUSE OF TORTURE (EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, SHO & Dick Togo) Kickoff 2: STARDOM Ranbo Kickoff 1 – Oskar Leube Debut Match: Oskar Leube, Yuto Nakashima, Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita vs. LA Dojo (Kevin Knight, Gabriel Kidd, Alex Coughlin & Clark Connors)
Couple items of note:
(1) Lio Rush is not just YOH’s partner for Super Jr. Tag League, as he’s noted as now having joined CHAOS. (2) Oskar Leube is a 6’ 7”/242lbs. Fale Dojo trainee who has been working with the dads in the Noge Dojo since May looking to make his debut. (3) Coughlin and Kidd return to Japan! Also, we get the Japanese debut of Knight, which is awesome to see. I’m thinking we may have Coughlin/Kidd in WTL, and Connors/Knight in SJTL, which sounds all-around amazing.

I kind of assumed Lio would be joining CHAOS. Interesting.

I'd guess either Cobb's injury isn't that severe or he's gonna be replaced. I'd guess by someone with ties to Muta... What's Onita doing on the 20th?

The only thought I had during the main event is “Man, Naito has slowed down a ton already.” Interesting; I thought it was about as great a NJPW match as I've seen in a hot minute. Naito's definitely slowed down, but that's kind of the nature of the beast at this point. Still thought he more than did his part to make that a banger.

Naito's definitely slowed down, but that's kind of the nature of the beast at this point. Still thought he more than did his part to make that a banger. I think he makes up for it with his charisma and just being an all around great worker. The match was very good but, I guess I was expecting something a bit different. Something slightly faster.
