I'm actually a teacher. I've been noticing more and more of my students becoming involved and fear it will lead to worse things. But the thing I hate the most are the bottom feeder hiphop loser piece of s#$% drug dealers that frequent the campus to sell their crap weed that looks like someone took a s@#$ on it and then ran it over with car before they bagged it up. The one I saw today I wanted get out of my car and beat the S#@$ out of him. I don't mind adults doing it, or whatever, but these kids are getting set up for a big fall and that sucks. They are all just sheeple. Youre a teacher, thats cool. You have a homebase thing dont you? You should spend one of those telling kids the affects of it, but then again, they may not listen. Wanna here a story? Alright. My principal a few months ago was arrested for being under the influence, driving his car into a house, nearly hitting young children, and may have had drug paraphenelia(sp?) in his car. Talk about useless teachings! I'm a music teacher and every year when drug awareness comes around I do spend some time with some real facts. I take knowledge approach and a few personal examples. Interestingly though it's the one lecture I give where I never have to tell them to stop talking because they are so interested. I blame hip hop. Most of my kids are super poor. And teaching has it's rewards. And who can complain about summer's off.

Yeah, hip hop and rock can be bad influences. They should listen to country, IMO

I blame hip hop. Most of my kids are super poor. I'm a fan of rock music and i dont like rap but you cant really blame it all hip hop look at past rockers like Hendrix,Morrison,Scot,Joplin and even more current ones like Slash and Nikki Sixx who have came close to dieing and countless others who have died. Also blaming the really poor is hard due to the fact to buy drugs you need money and even if the poor are doing drugs there are plenty of rich kids doing it to.

The reason I didn't include rock music was because it's not as in your face at this stage of the game, plus, 75% of my students are into the hyphy movement which glorifies smokin' weed. No mainstream rock groups are singing about it like that these days . At least not that I've seen. Most of that stuff is underground and a little more out of reach so to speack. Though the metal heads seem to be enjoying the herb too. And just for clarification I have been known to use substances and even built a habit or two.

at the elementry school i went to, no one did drugs. it was a big deal that i had ONE beer at 14 in grade 8. then a month later, since we were going to high school in september, word got around that some of the girls i graduated with did weed at a party and it was HUGE news.
then in high school, they'd come to class all strung out on coke\X\weed\weed laced with coke. it was sad.

When I was in middle school in 92, all we did was smoke cigs and once a while could steal a 6 pack from a parents house, how the f*** do middle school kids end up doing drugs?

Since i went to a Catholic high school, it was pretty much drug free (except at the dances, empty booze bottles and roach clips all over the floor). Now college, ha ha, yeah that's a different ballpark. You want to see what drugs can do to you, you have to check out my friend graham. Does everything under the sun and doesn't care who knows it.

Yes, i blame a genre of music for peoples tendency to cave in to peer pressure, stupidity and weak mindedness.

There's a good amount of weed in my school. I think I know more kids that smoke than don't smoke. Even worse is that I only have about 4 or 5 friends that don't go out and get hammered every weekend. I guess you can say it's getting close to being a problem.
