As others have said, this year is the biggest even if nothing else happened besides Vince retiring.
2001 was its own beast as we went from two viable wrestling companies along with ECW all condensing down into one and ruining the wrestling business in the process.
I'll throw 1997 out there as well being the screwjob, Austin damn near getting paralyzed, the underwhelming payoff to the Sting crow angle, and other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting.
1988 was big as well with JCP going out of business and Turner buying it. That pretty much killed off the NWA and WCW proceeded to not turn a profit for the next 7 years. I won't even touch on how much talent was driven away.
