Do we know the new boss in NXT that Regal was calling an idiot? Very unusual he'd say that sort of thing publicly and iirc he said they're no longer in charge. Helps explain why they let him go in the first place and nice to know Vince still looked out for him. Notable TK also let him go. Obviously highly respected by all his bosses. (Although of course treating someone with basic human decency shouldn't be notable). Johnny Ace it lines up perfectly with the timeline hes discussing

Small note from Regal’s Inside the Ropes appearance, that Vince let him out of his non-compete/contract a month early so he could debut with AEW/Danielson and still paid him that month. This is actually pretty great...I know Danielson has stated that Vince was like a father figure to him as well.

Man, I just have all the more respect for Regal managing to technically work for both AEW and WWE at the same time. All because Vince McMahon loves Bryan Danielson.

I have to respect Regal being so humble, even if I'd still much rather see him on TV than Ric Flair, for example.

Scroobius Pip! That's a name I've not heard in a long time.
Shame Regal seems to be done publicly but I'm glad we got this final run.

It is refreshing to hear an older/retired wrestler okay with stepping back and not being in the limelight anymore. I wish he felt differently but I respect that. Even if he wasn't wanting an on-air role in AEW he never seemed to be phoning it in. I believed everything he put out. I hope he can enjoy his new position and get to be Darren Matthews not William Regal.
