So with them hyping Hayter and Baker as "The Killer and the Pillar" on Dynamite, with Penelope and Bunny back together after the former's absence and the latter's injury, with some easy pairings like Tay-Jay, Nyla/Marina, Velvet/Grey, and some previous alliances that've been around before like Toni teaming with Thunder Rosa or Shida, not to mention Shida likely needing a partner against Ford/Bunny and the sheer number of regular and six-women tag matches lately...are we about to get tag belts for the women's division soon?
I'd like to see it, but I'd rather see them once ROH is up and running and then do like WWE initially did between the main roster and NXT and say that they can be defended in both promotions; once you've got both going there'll be more than enough talent and possible pairings to go around.
While we're at it, though, what are some other pairings that you think should go together if it comes to pass soon?

As far as I'm concerned, the tag team titles should have come along well before the TBS title, as the tag titles would have helped a lot more in building the womens division than a singles title held by the same pretty green wrestler for it's whole existance.
So I'm all for tag team titles, and the sooner the better. A Feud between Ford and Bunny vs Shida and Willow (Nightingale is great and her and Shida make an adorable tag team) would be a great place to start.

With respect, I feel the last thing both the women and the company need is another set of belts. The only women's programs that get consistent oxygen on the main shows are the TBS and World titles and even they seem to alternate rather than co-exist. Feature the women consistently, have non-titles feud on the main shows and more grudge matches a la Knight/Baker and then we'll see.

They haven’t even made the TBS belt feel like it matters yet.
Do that before you try and introduce yet more belts.

There should only be more belts if there’s a dedicated women’s only tv show which makes infinitely more sense than trying to put a busted-ass ROH show together. Surprised that the WWE hasn’t done this TBH.
The only caveat would be that the ladies still need to be featured in the regular shows as well.

Only if they do some handwave shenanigans that turns the TBS title into tag titles. I think the women's division can support two titles but not three.

I have seen enough American companies try it to make me think it won't work even if AEW is better booked than all of them.

Buzz is they’re trying for both a ROH show and an all womens show. Yeah, I should clarify that if AEW’s show schedule stays as it is now, then I don’t think adding any titles makes a lot of sense. But if ROH is back up and running like Khan apparently is expecting in 2023 and the womens show even has a chance of happening, then they make a lot of sense.

Impact has a far superior women's division to either AEW or WWE and even they can't make women's tag titles work.
Only times I've seen women's tag-titles actually work are in dedicated women's wrestling promotions that have the roster depth and time needed to make it work. Otherwise, it's doomed for failure.

Impact's problem with their women's tag division appears to be certain talents recently leaving (Rayne, Tenille, Chelsea, Yim), and not having enough established teams readily available on the indies to sign.

The "Killer and Pillar" stuff is only to build to their eventual feud.

I think they feasibly COULD
TayJay
Baker and Hayter
Madison Rayne and Skye Blue
Emi and Mei
Shida and Riho
The Bunny and Penelope Ford
Nyla and Marina
Red Velvet and Leila Grey
Diamante and Keira Hogan(?)
Like they have a decent tag division to start if they actually did do it, it's about feasibly giving them screen time and sustainability to hold it together, which is what every major promotion has failed at to this point just about outside of Impact.

Please no, way too many of the women in AEWs division are not polished enough for mainstream TV and they already have too many belts.
If they get more TV time (I hope they don't, it's hardly helped WWE over the years) then let's see if the stature of the other belts and stories outside of those improve again before even thinking about adding more.

I had pushed for the idea in the past, but on reflection (which has involved me being embittered by some of the discussion on this board), I'm no longer for it.
However, I think it's a good booking idea to work toward. No hurry, no belts, just...consistently build the infrastructure as if it were happening in the future, just don't actually do it until that infrastructure is there. I think that might actually be what's happening at the moment, with how many women's matches on the webshows have had this really conspicuous veteran to rookie ratio where it'll be three steady hands and one woman who's probably worked like five tag matches before if you look at her Cagematch. (That thing where there's no real money in being an indy women's tag team? Means that a lot of AEW's stateside recruits have barely wrestled in the match type.)
But like...there needs to be a steadier base, because the way AEW handles titles, let alone how they allot women's screentime, is just not going to work for it right now.

It could maybe lead to another tournament perhaps and AEW does have a deep enough division to do women's tag belts but they don't need another title and they've struggled to get more women on the show.

Only if they do some handwave shenanigans that turns the TBS title into tag titles. I think the women's division can support two titles but not three. This is my sentiment. If they could somehow 'retire' the TBS title, and replace it with the tag titles then that would be the best way to go. As others have said the TBS title should never have come before the tag titles (or at all). The women needed tag titles yesterday, not another singles belt.

Honestly, my take on the problem with the TBS title is that they were like doing the Britt Baker reign at like teh same time.. so you had two titles with heel champions that never lose so no one else could really get built up...

Re: number of belts the division can support...
I think it's always worth remembering that AEW has more women on their roster than TJPW has overall roster members - and TJPW has three belts. There are a bunch of other factors why I think AEW should wait on tag belts, but roster size isn't one of them.
