So I'm thinking about how, in 2011, TNA gave Brian Kendrick a crazy man gimmick where he'd just spout nonsense all the time in his bathrobe and like
I need more examples of dudes whose gimmicks were just totally shitting on them LMAO

Crowbar. They named him after the term for a big stiff dude with no technical ability.
On that note, guess which weapon Test got when he took part in the ECW Elimination Chamber match?

Not a real dude but the fake Hawk in WCW vs. the World game being named Overdose is savage. Arguably it’s a take on the “oh what a rush” catchphrase but still, damn.
Bastion Booger was made intentionally disgusting because Vince got disgusted looking at the dude once.

Vince Mcmahon's name is going to be brought up a lot in this thread isn't it?

That's like 4th dimensional ribbing because Crowbar was one of the primordial indy darlings as Devon Storm and dude was great in the ring.

Most recent one that comes to mind is that absolutely horrendous Shorty G gimmick that Chad Gable got a few years ago. Seriously the fact that his career survived that is a testament to what a beast Chad Gable is because a lesser talent would have been done after that.

I always wondered, was Ryback's whole Feed Me More deal(along with his theme being called 'Meat on the Table') a reference to him having a voracious appetite?

Christian's crybaby gimmick in late 2001-early 2002. Apparently Vince thought he was a whiner IRL.

Natalya's farting gimmick either came from her farting all the time and/or someone thinking that a farting gimmick would get over.
Either option is not good.

Adorable Adrian Adonis. He started getting heavier, so naturally Vince gave him that gimmick to punish him.
Sexual Chocolate gimmick era Mark Henry was an attempt to try and make him quit so they could get out of his insane contract.

I can't remember who said it but one of the writers made a joke in production one day that she should have a farting gimmick and change her name to Niedfart. A weeks later he saw it on the runsheet and couldn't believe they were actually going through with it.

Perry Saturn as a funny-talking goofball who later gained a mop after he got stiff with Mike Bell.

The Scott Hall stuff around 1998 where he’s a drunken mess crashing cars and projectile vomiting in the WCW canon still today leaves me baffled. Like how their minds immediately jumped to “this would be shocking and outrageous for ratings” and the thought of “hey, maybe we shouldn’t sabotage one of our biggest attractions by making him look like a joke and instead keep him off TV so he can get help” never crossed anyone’s mind.

I’m sure Bischoff says it has to do with the AOL/Time Warner merger.
