According to Cornette, its not necessarily Omega himself, its that they aren't on the same page anymore when it comes to how they view wrestling. Also, Cornette complained that Meltzer kept sending him strange emails about weird and random topics. I'm not sure what to make of the second part, but that two men in their late fifties/early sixties ended a three decade friendship in part because of a difference of opinion about wrestling is sad in every sense of the word. Under normal circumstances I would agree. When its two people from the wrestling industry it isn't that weird.

I can't say any people/situations come to mind other than this one, concerning longtime friends in pro wrestling severing their friendship after decades because they like different styles of wrestling. There have been plenty of falling outs in wrestling over the years between friends, but about something as trivial as "how much I liked this match compared to another one," no. Who are other examples I'm forgetting about?
No one as far as I know. I didn't say that it was either common or normal. Simply that two people from the wrestling world ending their friendship over this is way less weird than say two accountants or two plumbers ending a decades long friendship over their wrestling opinions.

It doesn't help that they're two people whose "brand" so to speak resolves around their opinions. If a film director had a big falling out with Roger Ebert over their opinions on films, I don't think that'd be considered too weird.
