I could see an alliance with Freddie Prinze, who is about to launch UWE (Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment). Any idea when that's due to premiere? Just out of curiosity. He said this year, but he didn't specify.

Who leaves with them? Who do they sign from the Indy’s/AEW? I could see an alliance with Freddie Prinze, who is about to launch UWE (Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment). I actually mentioned that last night. Though from some of Freddie's podcasts I wonder if he and Hunter have a good relationship as it seems like they butted heads

I thought about this and decided they’d try to buy NWA so they could have that name and belt.

I thought about this and decided they’d try to buy NWA so they could have that name and belt. In a real life scenario, I think this would be the best option. Hunter could definitely bring some name value back to NWA and it having a history would make it an easier sell to the networks. Plus then he can strut Flair out all the time as an ambassador or something, you know he wants to do that. So, I don’t know much about corporate law, but how much trouble could Trips get into if he cuts a bunch of contracts before resigning just so he can take them with? Kevin, Sami, Finn, you want out of your contracts? Sure, now I quit.

I think some people are overstating any success that would occur if this would happen.
I mentioned this in the other thread, but I seriously seriously doubt that either of them would want to do this, but they would still be going head to head with a couple of juggernaut companies that have brand recognition. But even if they had unlimited funds, it's a moot point.
But for the sake of argument, if they did, then you'd have to sell a lot of people on the idea of a new wrestling organization. For what it's worth, how many people came and went in TNA over the years that were considered household names? How many people who are currently watching strictly WWE would watch AEW if they knew some of their favorite former WWE stars wrestled there?
The thing we have to remember is brand recognition still goes a very very long ways, and most of WWE's audience is going to watch the product no matter how terrible it gets. Another wrestling company isn't going to absorb a large majority of the fanbase simple because WWE either becomes too terrible or even if WWE closed it's doors...they just simply stop watching entirely.
For Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to succeed, they would have to play the long game. I'm talking a long long game where they would be starting very small and just keeping their heads above water, because success isn't going to probably happen for years. Public trust is important, and if I trusted anyone to understand maintaining trust, it would be Triple H, but again that comes at the cost of not seeing a return right away.

Good points but I think a thing to remember with TNA is they put almost no effort into advertising and promotion. They relied so much on word of mouth (plus Dixie is the definition of a money mark). While I don't hold Triple H and Steph in as high regards as many do, I do think they have much both better business acumen and self awareness than the powers that be in TNA

Stephanie and Trips have way better of a track record of success than a money mark like Dixie Carter. The interest for TNA was there. It's not like they were always some rinky dink company. They just shot themselves in the leg repeatedly when it looked like they were about to break out from being a default #2 promotion to a legitimate #2 promotion. Not saying it wouldn't be difficult, but look at the success AEW's had in just about 4 years since they started.
There's also a very rich, deep pool of wrestling talent out there that deserves to have a major stage to show their craft. WWE and AEW only have so much room, and more and more, I think a third major promotion is necessary. If that's the Levesques starting things up, more power to them.
Assuming it doesn't directly compete against AEW in timeslots, I'd check out their hypothetical company.

It would be the North American version of Misawa leaving All Japan and starting NOAH.
