I've always wanted to see Mama and Papa Dudley I think in ECW the story was all of the Dudley brothers have different mothers but share the same father.

Has a wrestler ever called a spot by a move’s name (say, “blue thunder driver”) and the other wrestlers like “Wut?!” I can’t remember all the details, but Cornette told a story about the Midnight Express working with a green Rick Rude and somebody. Rude and Dennis Condrey started the match, locked up, Rude took a side headlock, they walked around a bit, and Rude let him go and tagged out. After the match, Jim asked Dennis what happened. I can’t remember the terminology, but Dennis called a spot for him to shoot off Rude, drop down, Rude would jump over him, punch Bobby on the apron, and retake the headlock. Rude said, “What?” Dennis repeated it. Rude again asked, “What?” Dennis told him, “I will shoot you into the ropes. I will drop down in front of you. Jump over me. Continue moving. Punch Bobby. Go back to the headlock.” Rude replied, “I can’t get it.” Dennis replied, “f*** it, tag out.” As Jim said, from there Rude went on to be one of the best heels in the business.

How the financial side works. Particularly how do indies/small promotions afford to fly in multiple international wrestlers with such small crowds. By getting local businesses to be sponsors. Let's say swampland indie wrestling wants to use Deuce Dawson. Dawson is 600 plus a plane ticket. So line up 6 sponsors at 100 each. But then others feds lose money cause they bring in Brian Cage and Rock n Roll express. And have 4 sponsors and draw 50 fans. That is why cubic zirconia wrestling hasn't turned a profit in close to 2 years.

How do they land off of the top rope with a leg drop without breaking their asses? And taking a double stomp. A few look safe-ish, most look brutal.

I keep waiting for one of the local guys to do the double stomp. Just so I can ask them afterwards how the hell it works. Most moves I can figure out how to do it and minimize the damage to both people. But a double stomp I have no clue on it.

If you're a certain British promoter you hope that the airline tickets you bought are sent to the talent before the cheque you wrote bounces. #ThankYouSteven

What was Sunny's proper role in the WWF in 1997? On-screen, she made random appearances as guest ring announcer, guest referee, or modelling a tshirt. She wasn't managing or part of any storylines. Why did Tatanka never go to WCW? By 1996 Tatanka was pretty much done in terms of star power. I know that didn't stop Bischoff from signing the bottom of the barrel guys WWF had, I guess he just went under Bischoff's rader. I feel there was a rumor in 94 Eric wanted to sign him, Yoko and Bushwhackers but I remember hearing Vince signed guys to longer term contracts so Eric couldn't have them, no matter how low they were. 1997 Sunny was pretty much 1987/88 Billy Graham. Her time ringside was done but she was young (not Superstar) and under contract and they kept trying to give her whatever they could. Managers were on the way out at the time and she was pretty much pushed over for Sable so she couldn't be used as a manager. Only roles were as an extra. Even at 13/14 I saw similarities with say her, Billy Graham, Mr. Perfect, Roddy Piper from years earlier. But Piper and Perfect were able to rebound back into ring roles.

Just from looking at some compilations I would guess that how the Stomp works is that the guy taking it is never completely flat which would immediately kill him. They get their core tight, arms in and sit up as the Stomper flies in allowing him to push them back down to the mat and roll off/get their feet to the mat before their body is completely flat and takes all of the impact making it more of a glancing blow. Looks like Finn Balor also keeps his weight backwards so after contact he lands almost like a legdrop as well making it even safer for the guy taking it. Could be wrong of course, but that's my best guess.

Occasionally at house shows, even in major venues like MSG, the ropes would be in the wrong order. Instead of red, white, blue, you'd get blue, white, red. Was this just a mistake by the ring crew, or could there have been a practical reason for it, such as the red rope being worn/more likely to break, so they put it at the bottom that night?

If a wrestler is asleep and you sneak up on them and start slapping the mattress and loudly count 3, will they instinctively raise their shoulders off the bed?

Do they have to hold the tag rope and be tagged in during an orgy?

Like, "suplex" is generally going to be understood, but when it got more complicated than that, time to break out the dolls. That’s brilliant of her! There was also a (Sports illustrated, I think) clip of Bucks going over a match backstage with Naito and someone. They’re not speaking in full Japanese, but kind of making it understandable while going over the sequences of the match. I've always wondered how folks the Bucks are able to put together their matches with so many spots that almost always go perfectly. I get they know how to execute it but man I don't think I'd be able to remember all that. Same. Even with going over, even with being able to call stuff, so much of it (not just bucks, lot of dudes these days) is so fast and on a timely manner, that it really is remarkable. I could imagine going over in slow-mo in the ring before the match would help because you get it into your body. That honestly worked the best for me in fight choreography/plays in the past. Someone posted a clip recently on wreddit of Rock and HHH going over a spot in slow mo before their Judgment Day Iron Man match.

Do wrestlers who wear more than one color for their attire (think Ric Flair) get to chose whatever color trunks or tights they want for a given show, or are they assigned by management? I think Savage was allowed to pick his gear for his 4 matches at Mania 4 (ending with the white entrance ensemble for the entrance of the main). At times Savage did have "hidden hints" of something that would happen via his gear, the two I know for sure being his Mania 6 gear being mostly white to signal his face turn, and Mania 7 being black and gold to signal the title win.

Like if they extended their legs at the end, with the momentum, then yeah, you're breaking their sternum or worse, but they tend to just kinda "cannonball" in the air and let gravity carry them down without exerting much force in their lower extremities. So it's impactful, but not dangerous. If that makes any sense.

Along the same lines, at WWF in the 80s, whether in the Spectrum, Boston Garden, MSG, wherever, you would sometimes see a completely different ring used than the typical WWF ring. Usually the same size, sometimes smaller.. the biggest difference usually being the posts. Did WWF own multiple rings at the time, but they just weren't the same standard, or did they hire out local rings? The Wrestling Classic in 1985.. that ring is unlike anything they have ever used in the states, and it was on a PPV. That ring was probably 16x16, had as much bounce as a damn trampoline, and had no turnbuckle pads.. where'd they source that from? Now I get that ECW would need to rent rings when they toured, but would the WWF need to, even in the 80s? I honestly would love some kind of wrestling ring database, sourcing different rings used at what venues by what promotions, etc.

Do wrestlers sleep better in hotel beds than they do in their own beds at home?

Anyone watching old episodes of WCW ever notice during Midnight Express promos that Dennis Condrey would always flip over a piece of paper on the announcer's desk while Cornette was in the middle of one of his verbal tirades? I always assumed this was Dennis ribbing Cornette, to make it look like his promo was scripted and required both sides of the paper.
