We always talk about the other side of this, the tragedies. Which wrestlers lived long lives and died naturally?
Bruno Sammartino is the only one I can even think of and I actually did not know he was deceased until today I actually thought he was still around. I probably did see the news but forgor.
I assume they're all going to be classic, probably mostly pre or early television guys like Bruno. Since not enough time has passed since say the first Wresltemania for most of the people involved back then to be gone.

While Lou Thesz did die from complications after heart surgery, given he lived to 86 I'd say he probably close to passing away from natural causes anyway.
Same with Danny Hodge who whose death at 88 likely was related to advanced dementia.

How old are we talking, 70s or so? As there's guys like The Sheik, Nikolai and Dusty who had passed away in that age period.

The guys who were considered the fathers of modern professional wrestling and MMA died past 80.
Lou Thesz was 86. George Hackenschmidt was 89. Karl Gotch was 82. Gene Lebell was 89.

Bob Orton Jr's getting up there, and, crazily, still having the occasional match at the age of 72.

Pat Patterson was 79. How old was Antonio Inoki? Inoki was 79. I'm still kind of peeved that CNN never listed him on their "People We've Lost In 2022" page.

You would think he's even older seeing him on TV tonight, but that quote from the recent Ric Flair doc isn't wrong about how he should be dead, since he's 73 right now.

Ric reminds me of Ravens speaking about drug addicts some years ago. I can't say the exact quote, it's been so long but he basically said it's not the hardcore user that winds up dying, it's the one that used a lot then stopped and when they started up again the overdosed. Ric's alcoholism is probably not going to kill him, his body is used to it by now. Barring a car accident or a disease, I can see Ric living into his 80s. I feel like he's out of the woods now.
