Has there ever been 3 PPVs in a row as classic as Royal Rumble/No Way Out/Wrestlemania in 2001?
There will be longer runs of poor PPVs but I don't know if there's ever been anything worse back to back than Superbrawl and Uncensored 2000. I'm not exactly sure who booked them because Russo and Bischoff both hadn't returned yet but they were absolutely wretched shows.

SummerSlam ‘02 to WrestleMania XIX is an insane run. Armageddon is mid but all the big 4 PPVs and No Way Out are classics

I believe Kevin Sullivan was booking during this time, or at least one of the guys booking.

The only thing that kinda comes close to what the OP said is maybe All In/the first Double Or Nothing/the first All Out.
Even then its debatable because All In wasn't A "real" AEW show and they had little free mini ppvs between DON and All Out.

Great:
WCW Spring Stampede 94 - Slamboree 94 - Bash at the Beach 94 WCW Halloween Havoc 96 - World War 3 96 - Starrcade 96
Bad:
WWE Great American Bash 2004 -> Vengeance 2004

Surely WCW 2000 qualifies for worst.

I think Survivor Series 89, Rumble 90 and Wrestlemania VI were pretty awesome.

Halloween Havoc 95 to Great American Bash 96 has to up there in terms of "worst PPV runs" for WCW. The only kinda bright spot was Starrcade 95, which was inconsequential as a PPV, really.

I think Survivor Series 89, Rumble 90 and Wrestlemania VI were pretty awesome. I know Golden Era WWF is not everyone's cup of tea, but Summerslam 1989 through Summerslam 1991 are all bangers to me. If you like that old WWF style, there are very few unwatchable PPVs prior to the In Your House Era IMO.

If you count NXT as it's own entity what was the longest run on great Takeover's? I'd almost argue the first few years were all fantastic at the time but not sure if that's actually true, especially as some are essentially one match shows.
I'd imagine WWE late 2019 must have been bad with that Fiend HiaC and bad Saudi shows but can't remember if anything good broke them up.

Great American Bash 96 is an amazing show, I think you meant Slamboree 96, which isn't good but is at least a step in the right direction. And Starrcade 95 is one of those shows like Wrestlemania XIX where in a vacuum it's great, it just happens to be surrounded by shit. I'd say Starrcade 95 is strong enough to disrupt making all of that a single run as Superbrawl 96-Uncensored 96 are both a massive drop off.

You're exactly right, I meant that GAB 96 snapped the bad show streak, but I should have ended it at Slamboree 96, which is a dire show.

I'd say AEW's 2021 run of Double or Nothing, All Out and Full Gear has to be a contender for best. (Especially All Out which is considered by many to be one of the best overall PPV's in the modern era.)

Yeah, the only think I really appreciate about Slamboree is 1) on paper the concept is great and 2) Barbarian really made DDP look like a million bucks at the end of Battlebowl.

Royal Rumble, No Way Out, Wrestlemania XXIV in 2008 was a pretty great stretch of PPVs. I remember renting them all with friends and we all had a blast watching them!
Honestly I think 2008 in general had some stellar PPVs.
I will also second that Hulkamania Era PPVs tend to be fantastic, but I know that also comes down to nostalgia for me having grown up on it. But I would say Royal Rumble 1989-Survivor Series 1993 there isn’t a PPV that I don’t enjoy watching.

I don’t think you could get any better than Royal Rumble ‘92, Wrestlemania VIII, and Summerslam 92.

The WWF stringed together some amazing PPVs in 2000, with Fully Loaded, Summerslam, and Unforgiven probably being the best three in a row you could pick from.

Halloween Havoc 91 to Beach Blast 92 was a great period for WCW pay per views.
