Messy start, with Alonso and Hamilton nose-to-nose at Turn 1.

Big accident for Norris at the turn going onto the Strip Straight.

Itâs funny when they cut to a shot of Rob McElenney in the Haas garage and the coverage doesn't acknowledge his wife Kaitlin Olsen standing next to himâŠ
It's very on brand with Itâs Always Sunny.

15 minutes until the last race of an F1 season that will go down in history as one that happened.

15 minutes until the last race of an F1 season that will go down in history as one that happened. Historically speaking, most seasons in F1 history are closer to this than they are to 2021.

Having been through the various cycles of "Schumacher wins lol" to "Vettel wins lol" then "Hamilton wins lol" and now "Verstappen wins lol", this season definitely straddled the line of being impressive from the sheer historicity of it all to being painful for the same reasons.
I think just the fact that Verstappen was SO dreadfully dominant without a clear-cut Hakkinen to his Schumacher or Prost to his Senna, that the stories ended up being more along the lines of "Why do Mercedes and Ferrari suck so much?" to the point that it even seemed to downplay McLaren quietly moving back up the field.
That being said, I'd still probably call 2011-2014 or so the nadir of modern F1 in terms of competition, aesthetics, and overall vibes/enjoyability.

If you take Verstappen out of it briefly.
The rest of the field was pretty close.
But yeah, hopefully next season the likes of Mercedes and Mclaren will make Verstappen work a bit harder for that 4th Title next season.

With Logan Sargeant confirmed to stay in the second Williams, the start of the 2024 Formula 1 season will have the exact same driver/team lineups as the end of the 2023 season, which I'm certain has to be a first for the series.
(In fact, the only changes appear to be the rebranding of the Alpha Tauri and Alfa Romeo teams)

That statement was put out by Mercedes last night. All the other nine teams in the last couple of hours have said that they didnât make a complaint, which alleges that toto Wolfe as team principal of Mercedes and his wife susie Wolfe who is head of the F1 academy passed sensitive information to each other.
