It’s got something for everyone.
Alexander and KUSHIDA have teased doing a high end grappling show and you know that just a part of the main event style Alexander has mastered.
Ospreay and Bailey is going to be the high speed high impact match they are incredible at
Moose and Cobb is the beefy men slapping meat and having the impressive athleticism added in
Suzuki and KENTA will be the hard hitting match. Part of me wonders if Maclin finds his way into it as he keeps tweeting about wanting KENTA. The problem being that neither can lose a singles match with KENTA the strong champion and Maclin the #1 contender for the impact title. Suzuki taking a fall solves that problem. Even if he is added it’s still the hard hitting match. But I don’t know why they’d announce a singles is they were doing that so probably not anyway.
X scramble will be the fast paced spectacle
Tag match has some of the best tag timing guys around and there’s no way that it’s not great with that talent and what they can all do.
I’m thinking one of the X title or Tag titles switch to a New Japan act. You should do one change on the show early to let people know it’s possible. And it’s just as simple as an act being booked on a future impact date to drop it back anyway. They love pulling the rug out from Ace Austin anyway lol. But if you could get Aussie Open in again to drop it back or drop it to the Guns…you should just do it and have the awesome match for later in your pocket. But I’d also be down for seeing Clark Connors or Kevin Knight take the X title. Big fans of them

Yamashita being in that match is fascinating. A clear case of New Japan saying “do whatever you want in the women’s match” but Impact plucking a star in town from TJPW is still a surprising choice given New Japan and Stardom are family promotions now. It fits Impacts whole Multiverse theme they do on these shows…it’s just surprising this is what they did. She’s also really really great.

It also must really help that she’ll be there for the next while and TJPW’s doing a show at WrestleMania weekend anyway so it’s a thing of convenience, too. Why ship a STARDOM talent when a half decent business partner you worked with recently is right there to add to the “multiverse” sentiment?

No I get how it happened…it’s just that New Japan has traditionally been so much more rigid about things that it’s funny how open they are now

That’s a good point. They paid to bring the TJPW crew over already. Makes sense to get more usage.

Due to his injury, Will Ospreay is having to withdraw from Multiverse.
Instead, Hiroshi Tanahashi will be taking his place facing Mike Bailey.

I don’t believe he was planning on traveling to the states, let alone working there…and now he’s right up when asked to change his plans and get on a plane. Bailey must be pretty stoked. He’s had many matches with Ospreay but this would be his first with Tanahashi.
