It also doesn't help that by 1993, Turtles were declining in popularity. So yeah, thank goodness this didn't get on TV. In 93 I remember they just weren't the cool turtles they were in late 80s, early 90s. They had the Neutrinos which seemed like a "jump the shark" moment and the third movie didn't seem interesting but the first two were must see at the theater. I am happy for Duane and Barry though. They might not be as well known as Barry Horowitz and Steve Lombardi (at least Barry) but they tried and did their best with the position. And to me it seems like Duane getting the Gillberg spot was just as much Vince thanking him as it was to crap on Goldberg. IIRC it was Al Snow's idea for Gillberg.

It's a bad sign when half the front row was sitting there with their arms crossed and not reacting at all.

Duane Gill and Barry Hardy are among my absolute favourite jobbers, especially Duane. His cocky pre-match antics, just to be completely murdered by someone like Undertaker are awesome.
Didn't these two have a Power-and-Paint tagteam on the indies?

Yeah, 1993 pretty much was the last major year for the franchise having any real relevance before the bottom really fell out -TMNT Tournament Fighters releases, becoming the last real Turtles games for a decade. -The third film releases in theaters to bad reviews and worse box office, marking the end of any movies for nearly 15 years. -Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers premieres in the US, quickly stealing the Turtles' thunder as the action kids franchise -The animated series airs its last traditional season before the Red Skies retool the following year If one wanted to argue that after this the IP was effectively in hibernation to broader popular culture until 2003, they'd have a pretty strong argument.
