Most recently Bobby Lashley and LA Knight at Wrestlemania. You could have had a match between them coming off the SD battle royal but they didn't book them for whatever reason. Hey now, Shane's quad isn't going to tear itself.

Jericho not having a match at Backlash 2002 after main everting WrestleMania the previous month.
As mentioned, the Starrcade 97 and 98 shows. Halloween Havoc actually has more stacked cards each year.

Giant was there, but Nash refused to show up and do the job. Flair was out with a storyline injury. Sure, but the point is, when you can't find a way to give The Giant some kind of make up match, but you have room for Vincent and Buff Bagwell(who at this point were like the 15th and 12th bananas in the NWO, respectively), it kinda shows you how f***ed to death WCW's priorities were. Not to mention Savage wasn't even booked for the show originally and was only a replacement for Konnan in the six man tag. So Vincent was always booked and Savage was an alternate.

There are lots of strange cases of Savage being missing from WWF PPVs.
Survivor Series 1990 - why didn't he work a match? He would have naturally slotted into captaining the team against Warrior, with Mr. Perfect being more on a level feuding with Texas Tornado. And then at the 1991 Royal Rumble they work an angle so that he doesn't appear in the match. I wonder if he had nagging injuries during this period? Of course, he worked WrestleMania, but then had the retirement angle and so missed Summerslam and Survivor Series 1991 as well.
Just seems an odd way to book one of your biggest stars and best in-ring talents.

Of course, he worked WrestleMania, but then had the retirement angle and so missed Summerslam and Survivor Series 1991 as well. Just seems an odd way to book one of your biggest stars and best in-ring talents. Looking at Cagematch he was working a regular schedule from October through January before taking all of February off which doesn't matter as that was after both Survivor Series and Royal Rumble. So it definitely seems like he would've been healthy enough to work both of those events. He did also have a light September as he only worked three matches that month. With Survivor Series it seems like they decided what the teams were going to be right after Summerslam as years later when they put up a gallery of the team photos on the website ahead of that years Survivor Series there was a never before seen photo of Bad News Brown on the Million Dollar Team even though he quit right after Summerslam. With Savage not working much around that time he was probably hurt and maybe they weren't sure if he was going to healthy enough. Plus it's hard where to figure out a place to put him on that show anyways. It would make most sense to put him in the Warrior match since they were feuding but I think they wanted Perfect to captain a team since he was second banana on a team the year before behind Rude even though he was actually being pushed more by the time of the event. Also they probably didn't know Ax was leaving at that point which means they had to find room for all three Demolition members. Then there's really no other logical place to put him as was too big of a star to be the second guy on a team behind Slaughter, Dibiase, Martel, or Earthquake but those guys all had to be captains since they were in feuds with the opposing face captains. With the Rumble I never understood why they didn't at least have Savage come out and then have Warrior do a run in immediately with Savage then eliminating himself and getting chased to the back. Would've been better then no one coming out at #18 and everyone being confused also would've got a good pop and added some sizzle to a Rumble that was fairly dull.

How did Hogan miss Summerslam 92? I don’t remember, but it seems weird for the company’s biggest star to be out of a huge arena show in another country.
Was he filming movies at the time?

They was getting a lot of scrutiny about steroid use in the company, Hogan was away from WM to January the next year

The Match Made In Hell at Summerslam 91 should’ve been Sat.Slaughter and The Undertaker vs. Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior
