Bill and Ted are more likable than Wayne and Garth.
EDIT: And on that note, Waynes World 2>Waynes World

I still enjoy Zombie Movies.
I think the Lion King is kinda overrated.

Although it's getting more recognition now, Lilo and Stitch is still greatly underrated. It has so many different story layers that get overlooked. Batman Begins is my favorite Batman movie because I've always found Bruce Wayne more interesting than Batman and that movie has the best Bruce Wayne interpretation, IMO The Prestige is Christopher Nolan's best movie. Agreed on both fronts. The Prestige in particular "got me" when it was over. I legit wanted to watch it again immediately, but unfortunately I had to leave the theater. It doesn't matter if the Tesla red herring note that Borden gives Angier just happened to work out. The movie is just a tense rivalry that keeps you asking questions all the way till the end. Back to the Future is one of the most tightly plotted and impressive trilogies. It is, but I won't lie in that Part 2's first act, while visually impressive...just has some incredibly wacky and obnoxious moments. I think there is a better way to deal with Jennifer other than knocking her out. Marty posing as his son also always felt dumb...and having MJF play the other family members just felt weird instead of funny. Yes, I know they had to "explain" the ending of what Doc says at the end of the first movie, but I really wish they would have done anything different during that 2015 segment, while keeping the visuals the same. Part 3 is good, other than reusing the same actors as ancestors of the original characters. And I love Crispin Glover, so his eccentricities that were in the original were sorely missed in the follow ups. A shame that Bob Gale still is sore about things nearly 35 years later.

I miss the days when villains in Disney films were actually villains, instead of being portrayed as misunderstood.
Sure Hades had quirks and was hilarious to watch, but you knew he was a bad guy. And don't get me started on what they've done to portray Maleficent.

I know I've posted this before... but I get so pissed watching Independence Day when Randy Quaid is like "I was abducted by Aliens!" and everybody rolls their eyes. Mind you, this is after like half the world was destroyed by Aliens.
A similar scenario happens when jeff Goldblum's dad is like "You guys had area 51, you knew this was going to happen" and the people are like "lol look at this crazy guy talking about aliens and shit"... once again long after Aliens destroyed a bunch of stuff.

A similar scenario happens when jeff Goldblum's dad is like "You guys had area 51, you knew this was going to happen" and the people are like "lol look at this crazy guy talking about aliens and shit"... once again long after Aliens destroyed a bunch of stuff. To be fair, only James Rebhorn knows what's really in Area 51, and kept everybody else in the dark even after the aliens showed up. As far as everybody else in the room knew there was nothing in Area 51 and Judd Hirsch was just being an old crank who read too many National Enquirer articles. Randy Quaid's character is a drunk, and the confirmation of alien life doesn't automatically mean that he's telling the truth. In the original script it's revealed that he wasn't abducted by the aliens, and he'd fixated on the fantasy as a coping mechanism for his alcoholism causing him to not notice his wife's illness progressing past the point of recovery. After getting sober earlier in the story than in the final cut he relapses when he realises he imagined the whole thing and is turned away for being drunk when the call for pilots goes out, so steals a missile and straps it to his crop duster with the sole intention of making a suicide run on the alien ship. Understandably, this makes him a much more tragic but less sympathetic character, since he chooses to abandon his kids rather than being forced by circumstance into sacrificing his life. A lot of the backstory was dropped and the ending reshot, and it works much better.

I really don't think the 2019 "Charlie's Angels" was horrible. It was not great, but I didn't hate it and I think a lot of people were too harsh on it. I also think Kristen Stewart was one of the highlights because of how odd her character was. Some speculated that she was actually being herself in that movie.

-The switch to digital effects by and large killed monster movies. With extremely rare exceptions like The Host, they just do not look convincing on screen -Suicide Squad (the original with Will Smith) wasn't THAT bad, people were just prepared to hate it I will always maintain that guy-in-a-rubber-suit monsters have a charm that CGI monsters will never possess. Doesn't really help that I associate CGI monsters with the "Syfy Original" style of horror/science fiction that leans too far into "the joke is that we made a bad movie" humor. Like a Sharknado or a Velocipastor or other films of that ilk. Suicide Squad is a misfire of a movie, but I think it's a fascinating failure. Also it DOES feature a guy-in-a-suit monster in Killer Croc, which was nice. He won them an Oscar for Best Makeup!

And I loved Kristen Stewart's performance.

I still wanna know who the idiot was that put a massively important plot point of Rise of Skywalker into a Fortnight Event... but alas that's only like my 97th gripe about that movie.
Although truth be told, if I shut off my brain and just have it on as popcorn fuel it's a fun watch. Doesn't make much sense but it's still an audio/visual marvel.

Green Lantern gets treated much more harshly than it deserves. It was definitely flawed, but as a popcorn movie you can just sit back and enjoy, it's fun.

Regarding Rob Zombie's Halloween films, I actually did not mind the first one. Yes, there was a lot of emphasis on Michael Myers in that version and it was a lot more crass than the original, but I actually found it interesting. I wouldn't say it was great, but I kind of enjoyed it.
Halloween II, well... let me just say this: I will give it some credit for being its own thing. Yes, the opening bit was an homage to the 1981 film of the same name, but it was its own thing for the most part. I think I should check out the theatrical version because I heard it has a different feel. One difference was that Laurie wasn't an unlikable B in that version as she was in the director's cut. I will note that I didn't like how Loomis was written in that version, though. Not knocking Malcolm McDowell in his performance, though.

Essentially not the hottest of takes, but opinions you know you're in the minority of
Example for why I'm starting this: After watching it from someone suggesting it to me, I am willing to say Edward Scissorhands is the most depressing Family Film ever

Tim Burton gets a lot of flack, and most of it deservedly so. Still, his '80s and early '90s films generally hold up very well. Beetlejuice, '89 Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure are all still great and still look rather stylish.
