For me, Bayley. She was a very specific kind of face that I thought any heel turn would come off as forced. Now, I think her heel work is leaps and bounds above anything she did as a face. It took Bayley a few months before she really found the heel gimmick that made it work. When she first really turned, she was too simple. It was just "I'm serious now" and it was really bland. Once she started leaning more into the obnoxious Role Model character, she was off to the races.

Buff Bagwell - He was so plain and boring as Marcus Alexander Bagwell but Buff really was the stuff.
Vickie Guerrero - she was just there because she was Eddie’s wife but her character grew into an incredible heel.

Based on his first heel run, I didn't think the Big Boss Man could pull off being a good heel again after becoming a mega-face during his initial WWF stint. I was wrong.

Stephanie McMahon certainly exceeded my expectations as a heel given his first year as an on screen character as a damsel in distress.

During the Flyin' Brian years, I had no idea that Brian Pillman could pull off being such a great dirtbag heel. Good one. He kicked off the era of the 'shooting' crazy heel going off-script.

I'm less bullish on his current stuff, but Shun Skywalker, especially his delusional psychotic character he ran with last year, was really good. He was pretty damn white meat as a babyface, so seeing him 180 and turn into this character driven heel was really surprising.

Bobby Fulton of the Fantastics. He was about as ‘80s white meat babyface as it got, but the last time I saw him in the ring, he was working heel. He was now a middle aged man, with a little extra weight around the middle. The tan was gone and so was the long, bleached blonde hair, now dark and balding on top. My favorite touch was that he still did his “sexy” dance from the ‘80s, which was basically holding his hands up (almost in a “don’t shoot” pose) and wiggling his hips, only now it was coming from a balding, pudgy and pale middle aged man who made it a point to be jealous of the attention the Rock n Roll Express was getting at this event.
He also had his children with him, strutting to the ring to their father’s music, acting as cheerleaders for his most basic offense and distracting his opponent and the ref.
I was literally wishing he could get one last run as a heel on TV. It was that good.

Count me in for Bob Backlund. From the stories, I've heard, Mr. Backlund is much closer to him in real life anyway, but lord, he got another what? Four runs out of that character?

In my lifetime as a fan, Curt Hennig and Scott Hall both claim this award.
