How is Bad Bunny so much better at selling than a majority of the main roster? Probably because this is something that Bunny loves and is doing for fun so he’s going all out to show that he belongs whereas I’m sure for a lot of the roster it’s just a job and they’re half-assing it/the PC doesn’t train them well enough on certain aspects/they’re sometimes rushed to the main roster and develop bad habits.

And half of it is selling while the other is him tired and hurting for real People like him, Pat, Logan, etc have really raised the bar on these matches that they aren't just special attractions, you really have to come out there and perform

Was super cool to see Savio get that pop at a big WWE show. He was just a guy in the WWE in the 90s but was awesome to see him get a God pop. I always had a soft spot for him because I thought Kwang was cool as a little kid. Definitely popped for him busting out his ninja moves

Got to be comfortably in the top 10 wrestling entrances of all time.

Lost in all of this is how good Priest was and how the higher ups view him to put him in such a big spot

Apparently producers on the match were Brian Kendrick and Jamie Noble.

I saw only the Savio pop in isolation and that on its own tells you how good an idea this show was

Lost in all of this is how good Priest was and how the higher ups view him to put him in such a big spot 100% He was trusted with not only the most high profile match of his career, but also tasked with working with (and protecting) a celebrity talent. A talent who came to SHOW the f*** up. And he did an amazing job b/c they had the best match on the card. Freaking TAFKA Punishment Martinez, and Bad f***ing Bunny had the best match on a PPV. And THEN you add the crowd to the mix. I hope Priest got his flowers backstage for this.

Out of curiosity, I listened to what Jim Cornette had to say about this. Overall, he had a lot of positive things to say about the match. He thought that the match was laid out well. He felt that the weapons weren't over used. He praised Bad Bunny for taking this seriously and putting in the work to have a good match. The only real gripe that he had was Bad Bunny using the Canadian Destroyer as a finish because so many other people have been using it lately.

I don't realy disagree that it's used too much, but what else is he going to use as a part time celebrety wrestler that weights a buck 60? He needs something where his opponent does most of the work, but it needs to look like a move that puts someone down for three. Short of a top rop move of some kind, the Destroyer fits that bill.

I'll admit i'm saying this as a giant Canadian Destroyer mark here, but there's also something to be said for how it looks outside of wrestling. If you don't really know much about pro wrestling and aren't going to spend any time thinking about the move, just as a stray clip in the wild it looks a little more impressive as something Bad Bunny 'did'. It's a nice little extra for the external optics to have him do something that's a little flashy.

In my (biased) opinion, I think he was getting over enough to have been able to stand face to face with Lashley during his title run and not look out of place. Priest was killing it as the U.S. champion putting on good matches and the crowd always responding to him. They killed his heat with the two Damian shits but he has gotten back to form over the last year or so and really hitting his stride the last few months He got the Canada match with Edge which was a banger and now this one at home with Bunny.
