In 1991, 3 Nicktoons debuted. Another Ren & Stimpy reboot is in the works, and it's legacy would be stronger except for John K being a disgusting creep. Rugrats, another reboot, I believe is still on the air, and this is after a bunch of movies and sequel series. And then there is Doug, which never gets talked about, never is in reruns, and in terms of the legacy of Nicktoons, is rarely discussed. Well, it isn't discussed much via Nick due to Disney buying it...

Different Strokes was a huge hit in the late-70s to the mid-80s. Now, when people think of the show, its either all the tragedies that happened to the cast or, in the case of the show itself, the infamous bike shop episode or maybe the one with Nancy Reagan guest starring. There were NO OTHER episodes that people remember.

Chris Carter and other X-fike crew members non x-files shows, Millenium and Space: Above and Beyond have left little imprint on the culture, despite SAAB having a huge budget for the time and a whole lot of hype.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't show...as we know, it stunk with no John K., but not only is John K. a problem person now, look what he did the last time he DID get R&S back!! I could have sworn I saw OG Doug streaming or airing somewhere recently...

Little Britain is only darkly muttered about these days due to some offensive sketches: blackface, yellowface, a handicapped man faking it, a cross dresser being the butt of transphobic humour… Sad stuff but it was the 70s a different time and… no wait the show ran from 2003 to 2006, was massively popular, was a critical as well as a commercial success, had numerous guest appearances from household names and was absent from criticism during its run and only got the “hang on a bit, should we be showing the repeats of this?” epiphany over a decade after it finished. Yes it should have been going out of style, but the 90s and early 2000s did cling onto this form of humor. Aside from all that, LB just wasn't that funny. Most of the show was the same 3-4 scenarios, only the dialogue and locations changed. (but another sign of this time was people were amused by catchphrases)

That show really was cursed Poor Dave Foley being in the middle of it. With his marriage and divorce he had every excuse to become a woman hating misogynist but to my knowledge never went there. We actually went to a live performance of Whose Line is it Anyway (sadly, no Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, or Ryan Stiles- though I think Stiles was originally scheduled to be there but had to cancel). The cast consisted of the various regular 4th panelists (Greg Proops was the host). Dave Foley was featured as the special guest panelist. It was a fun show, though unfortunately for Dave the show also sold booze and the game where a couple of audience members were brought onstage to move panelists like puppets wound up being rather uncomfortable for him. The woman controlling him was obviously fairly inebriated and definitely very into him based on how overtly handsy she got. He held it together and soldiered through (no idea if the fact that she was quite MILFY helped with that), but he took a moment after it was over to properly gather himself.

Always had a crush on Maura Tierney, since Liar, Liar. She should have been in more shit. I just like looking at her and hearing her. #NewsRadio #RescueMe #LiarLiar and I dunno what else she was in. If I’m thinking of the right actress, she was in Primary Colors, which was a pretty good movie as far as I’m concerned.

I have never ever heard of "Space", which surprises me because the series was broadcast on the right channels at the right time. Is it worth a watch or too much of a cliffhanger?

I know I'm pushing Classic TV, but Sliders had a good run and I don't hear anyone talk about it at all.

Sliders is often brought up on forums whenever there's a "what not to do in television" thread Serious answer though, I remember it was reran on a UK Freeview channel a few years ago....I want to say Horror Channel, but am not 1000% sure

Here's one that the UK posters here can confirm or deny for me: Does Blackadder have less staying power since Mr. Bean came on the airways?

Repeated a great deal on UK telly, and still gets the occasional bit of new material, they recently did something for Comic Relief with Baldrick

Virtually none of The WB’s launch shows are remembered. None of them ever got a dvd release, I, not sure they are e en on any streaming services.

Just found one. Homicide: Life on the Street. Especially annoying since they did a few two-part crossover episodes with Law & Order. You can find Law & Order, so you get to see one part of the episode, but have to go to some sketchy Russian site and hope they have the conclusion in 140p.

It does kind of feel like Homicide only really continues to exist in the popular consciousness as, "That show Munch is from."

I'd actually argue that Mr. Bean has less staying power in the UK, it's never on TV (bar the cartoon) and Blackadder is more fondly remembered here, shown, referenced.

I know here in Canada (or my neck of it), at least with people my age (late 30s), Mr Bean is far more popular. It was on CBC for years. I never heard of Black Adder until high school when one friend made me aware of it.
