I didn't look through all six pages of the original post but wonder if posted about still being dumbfounded that Heyman has made a second career out of getting a man who trusts very few people, to trust HIM. Heyman didn't have a really good history of trustworthiness but someone Brock chose him to be his right hand man.
When I saw this thread, I figured it was made because of the recent post (I saw on facebook). The story had made it's rounds before so it's nothing new but funny it was the same poster.

Paul definitely deserved something. Not being shot in the head, but at least a damn good kicking. It's kind of wild that Paul got his jaw broken by Lawler, intentionally by Lawler's own admission, but it wasn't really related to any of the stuff that he did that you'd figure would have gotten his ass beat. What was the story behind Lawler attacking him?

What was the story behind Lawler attacking him? Lawler's apparent explanation was that they were building to a scaffold match in '87 in Memphis, and that Heyman backed out of the idea because of a fear of heights. Lawler was pissed because he felt a scaffold match would be the big money match and that Heyman was hurting his bottom line and only telling him last-minute, so he broke Heyman's jaw as retaliation. Heyman's version of events was something along the lines of just, "F*** him, if half the locker room was banging my wife, maybe I'd be bitter, too." So, uhh, not really clearing things up one way or another. This was from like 2008, I don't know if Heyman's addressed it elsewhere.

The Lawler story is news to me, when did it happen?
And suddenly, disliking Tommy for ill-thought-out commentary on the Plane Ride seems like small potatoes now compared to what he could have been infamous for. I too am glad he didn't act on it and seems to be in a better place. I never had a problem with him personally.

Are we bookmarking this thread to refer to a year from now when it's necromanced back into consciousness?

Lawler and Heyman dislike each other intensely but were willing to set that aside in the '90s for the ECW invasion story, probably because of Vince or another mediating party like maybe Cornette. This also sometimes gets mixed up with Lawler breaking Jimmy Hart's jaw, which he insists that was accidental, and was an entirely unrelated incident.

Amazed Tommy's resurfaced after the DSOTR debacle last year. My memory is hazy but at one stage he compared having a double man-bun to people being outraged about predatory behaviour, right? So, in a way, he did get to commit career suicide after all.

I wonder if the show would have continued. probably not as it would have been a crime scene with police taking eye witness statements etc. I know they continued the show after Owen Hart's death, an accidental death happening during a show is completely different situation to a murder-suicide happening during a show, the broadcast feed would have been cut by most of the providers due to it. you've got to remember with Owen it happened while they were playing a taped segment, what Dreamer was planning would have been on camera which puts it into a different level of what happens next and there would have been a strong probability that the decision on continue the show or not would have been taken out of vince's hands by the police. (personally, vince made the wrong choice to continue the show after Owen's death. I've not watched that ppv since it happened and never intend to ever again view it.)

Something tells me that security would have taken him out before anything serious would have happened, at least once they saw him pull out the gun . Security are pretty quick to react the second anyone jumps the guard rail... besides that managing ho get the gun into the arena would have been a massive failure on security's part too.

I can understand Dreamer’s motive but this is way over the top

Other then Mick Foley I don't think there's a man in the business, still alive, who's taken more unprotected chair shots to the head then Tommy Dreamer. I'm not terribly surprised that his brain-damaged ass has some really stupid ideas floating around in it.

Holy shit. Not only do I not remember sharing this before, I don’t even remember reading this story before. That’s..huh. Is that something to be worried about?

Also, I don't condone murder, but plenty of people have gotten shot over way less than 750 K I understand fantasizing about getting revenge, I don't know what made him think it was a good idea to tell people

I wonder if the show would have continued. pretty sure the moment a gun gets fired the cops will shut the show down themselves.

If you're like me you sometimes make the mistake of lumping hardcore wrestlers together like they all subject themselves to the same kind of damage by virtue of their style.

I wouldn't blame Tommy considering Heyman begged him not to sign with WCW only to lie and leave the roster hung out to dry.
