I've never really gotten Adam Cole and I feel like his AEW run has completely validated that opinion. About the only thing the dude's ever done in the company I've enjoyed was that time he was on commentary.

It's kinda funny to me how little goodwill Jericho has for feuds on here after 2021 and 22 where a feud goes for two months and has one flat match but you'd think it's been going 9 months with 16 more to go based on posts on here.
Also Adam Cole rules but he's got the Gargano syndrome where they either bust out amazing in ring work or total cornball business in a match and they're definitely easing him back into things after the concussions which doesn't necessarily make for exciting matches.

I might be in the minority but Cole felt like he was much better in WWE. Feel or face he just feels very Midcard to me. The jericho fed isn't helping, but my opinions on jericho are much more negative than most. Idk I feel like cole was better in wwe. Becoming a manager story notwithstanding He felt like a bigger deal in WWE Smartest thing they did in NXT was take their time with him. He wasn't rushed to the title or the spotlight too fast even after attacking Drew Night 1 he still ran the gauntlet of opponents. In AEW I think putting him up against Hangman in their endless matches was a mistake and the stuff with him and Britt isn't hitting like it is supposed to

No, it started when OC beat him and fans online mocked him that he lost to a hug.

Every time I'm teased with the idea of Jericho potentially taking a break and going on tour with his band they always end up scheduling it so that he still has Wednesdays free and he doesn't go away.
I wish he'd take a break then return for a final face run. I wouldn't be shocked if he's had more TV time than anyone in the past 4 years. He's 52 years old. He doesn't need to be a weekly fixture anymore.

That's also fans being really weird about Orange Cassidy, as they normally are Cassidy and Best Friends whole thing is hugs. Cole was knocked dead and Cassidy essentially just grabbed him and sent him over the edge into the outside wreckage. Was a full back and forth match and Cassidy just won, and people conflate that because Cassidy and any reason to overjudge Cole I guess.

They just feel that long. But also at least with other Jericho feuds, they usually start with a great match (like with Starks or Eddie) or they have a hot angle to piggyback on (the MJF one) that also has a very good TV match before getting to it. This just went from 0 to 100 immediately and there was no good match to go off of. Well except for Roddy/Jericho and Cole/Garcia being much better than what these two are doing but that's neither here nor there.

Eh, you could argue he felt like a bigger deal in NXT, the main roster cameos not so much and most of them were because of circumstances outside their control.
I will say, you don’t build a new reality show around a guy and have his return match be the night that premieres and not be considered some kind of big deal. Even if you personally never watched the show itself, that can’t be that much of a case.
Match wise? I think he just needs to not be involved in blood feuds and big brawls. Even in NXT, they were either kickout fests or only slightly better than Jericho/Cole.

The one people remember most is him beating Bryan during the SD episode everyone got stuck and his match with Dunne at SVS We can’t count the manager shit cause that never happened

If I'm being honest I've never remotely understood on like any possible level what the appeal of the Michaels / Jericho feud was. Probably doesn't help that I got tired of SRS Jericho after like two weeks.

Yea, go back and watch its a great feud Jericho being proven right about HBK faking an injury and it being played off as awe shucks and Jericho losing his shit over it They did some really great work in that feud over the months of it going off and on

I've only ever seen Cole in AEW, so forgive me if I've overlooked something in NXT, but I don't think blood feuds and hardcore matches are his thing. He never seemed more than mildly annoyed with Jericho throughout this angle when it really needed visceral anger. I could believe that Britt wanted to tear Jericho apart with her bare hands, but not Cole.
Maybe he wasn't feeling the angle or perhaps it's just not his style. If it's not his style, that's fine. You don't need a roster of bloodthirsty hardcore wrestlers.
But I also don't really get Adam Cole either, so maybe I'm just wrong about everything, lmao.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I think Keith jumped on everyone on Smackdown but he was on the Raw before Survivor Series to set up the show but I could be very wrong.

Whatever about his non existent main roster run, but Cole was 100% HHH and HBK’s ace-in-waiting until VKM sploodged a rainbow and turned NXT back into a development. Which 100% had nothing to do with NXT losing the war with AEW, by the way. ……

I like Adam Cole, but he may be the issue. I haven’t felt invested in his feuds so far in AEW (and I remember the KOR and Gargano NXT feuds getting a bit boring and cornily dramatic as well). I’m not sure what the solution is, but maybe he’s best as a midcard act or as the heel leader of a group (though the latter may be a bit played out as well).
Not really looking forward to MJF-Cole if that’s what the next big title feud is for Max.
