I think a pretty good argument could be made for Hollywood Hogan. He was the main promo guy and the main reason why the way cooler Wolfpac formed. With Hogan we know how cool he is - not much when he talks. Maybe the Rotundas, Bossmans and Horacececes were cooler or less cool. They didn't get the spotlight for me to form much of an opinion. Ok, Horace looked like he was perpetually on the brink of crying, which wasn't very cool.

Technically, the two hosts of Dinner and a Movie were nWo members so them too. They were solid heels!

Why have we started calling it the NWO? It's the nWo. Also, Disco Inferno. In fairness one of the least cool things they ever did was their blatant disregard for capitalization!

I'm pretty sure Sami hanging around the Bloodline at first was supposed to be comedy fodder like Disco in the Wolfpac so maybe there's an alternate timeline where Disco gets so over that the NWO story is completely changed to fit him in and he gets a Starrcade main event out of it. Now I’m imaging Disco having his big return “face” promo to challenge Hogan for the title. The event: Road Wild in Sturgis, South Dakota. This song hits: Those bikers are pissed…

Horace Hogan. With guys like Brian Adams, he had a decent enough look and made a decent bodyguard type, with Horace, he was tall, i guess... It's telling that the WWF never saw enough of him to put him on TV when he was signed there.

Eric Bischoff
Having him join the NWO made no logical sense.

This is the first time I've actually seen a picture of Horace Hogan. I swear, that ring name had to be chosen to make him sound like a hanger-on nepo baby goober, right? It's the exact name I would pick for a loser relative riding on his uncle's coattails who's supposed to be unappealing for that reason.

He reminds me of a buff Ted Buckland from Scrubs.

I'm afraid absolutely all of them were dorks THIS. This is the only answer. Not a single one of them was cool. They all came across like lane, middle aged dads trying to be cool.

Disco was plenty over, though that storyline wasn't his peak by any means. The difference is, WCW was absolutely not the sort of place where people got over and then they're given main even slots because of it. You'll get the TV title and like it, kid. I am a huge Disco Inferno defender; I think that his reputation as a worker and entertainer have been really unfairly tarnished (by all accounts, his negative personal reputation is entirely deserved). But will even I call him cool? ...hm. I mean. Cooler than Vincent. Cooler than Jeff Jarrett. That may be it. Really, this is all just showing what a missed opportunity the whole thing really was. Can you imagine a WCW that had its shit together? One that actually tried to play to the strengths of each NWO member? God, I'm imagining the comedy skits between Big Bubba and Kevin Nash right now.

My overall consensus on Disco is him being a decent in-ring hand with good comedy charisma and also some insane booking ideas and stupid personal takes.

Here I came into this thread thinking the only answer was Brutus Beefcake, and I know that wasn’t his name in WCW but he had like a million names in WCW.
But then I read the thread and see a bunch of other worthy answers.

Here I came into this thread thinking the only answer was Brutus Beefcake, and I know that wasn’t his name in WCW but he had like a million names in WCW. But then I read the thread and see a bunch of other worthy answers. Brutus wasn't actually that bad as The Disciple. He was jacked up, looked totally different, best he had since the accident, and was just a bit of silent muscle. Looking at the membership, they COULD have gone in a different direction, after Scott Steiner joined, there were no more good members, so they could have woven that in. Nash makes his face group, takes Savage, Konnan so the cooler members. Hogan adds his old buddy Brutus, his loser nephew, the less talented half of Harlem Heat, people who won't be any kind of threat, more in debt to him but making the group overall weaker. Over time, Scott sees this as weakness and him, Buff and Norton turn on Hogan and form their own 3 man unit. You have the Face Wolfpac, the Heel Vicious and Delicious and Hogan left to whoever you want to put him out for a while, Goldberg or Sting. The rest of the black and white become lower midcarders, Hogan gets a break, can do one of his big returns later and you have a fresh scene.
