Another fantastic Collision. 8/10 for me. I can't believe how well that Acclaimed promo worked! Full commitment is the key!

Just watched, definitely think Collision has found a good groove compared to its first couple weeks. We had a very good Trios Title match, a really fun Jay White match (mainly due to Juice and the Ass Boys being so over the top), solid promos from the Acclaimed, Joe, and Toni, a hilarious Christian promo, and a very good Mercedes and Stat match. If the tag title and main event scenes weren’t centered around the 3 most insufferable jackoffs in the company it would almost be Dynamite level. As it is, 7/10.

FTR have put on some of the best matches of late and CM Punk's matches have also been good, so match quality wise, it is Dynamite level, and FTR vs BCG might be tag match of the year to date. I get you hate them but saying stuff that they're killing the show when they've only enhanced it and the people they're working with means they're doing their jobs well. Punk and FTR's matches have helped make Juice Robinson a mainstay of this brand alone and for that I am grateful lol

I understand that people seem to (mostly) objectively be into the Punk stuff, but it’s starting to kill the show for me, personally, too. Mostly because, in kayfabe, it just doesn’t make any sense at all to me that Maxwell Jacob Friedman of all people would just be ignoring Punk’s constant backhanded jabs at him while masquerading as the “real” champion. And, sure, the title is being presented as Punk’s delusional vanity prize. Fine. Then why is he being presented as the whitest meat babyface possible protecting the honor of the local veteran hero? Why is he randomly going for the trios championships next weekend? Personal opinions about Punk aside, the narrative is a mess for me. And, for me, it hurts the show.

If you dig Punk and FTR, great. For me, their matches and segments are cues for me to do pretty much anything else with my time. Thus, they’re killing their respective divisions, FOR ME. Not necessarily for you, but FOR ME. You get me?

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be confrontational but I was more saying it seems to be working I also think it's smart that MJF is currently ignoring this, it's not in his wheelhouse right now and he's currently in a healthy place with his Cole friendship and the actual world champ. He's already taken digs at Punk on TV though, that confrontation will come As for how Punk is portrayed, I'd say it's a little muddled but Punk himself is that way, if that's the direction they've chose I just hope they stick the landing, and I feel like they were waiting for the Elite to re-sign to see exactly what way to take it, if my assumption that they will feud eventually is right anyhow.

Punk would only use MJF acknowledging the "Real" World Championship as legitimizing his claim to the title. By MJF not acknowledging it, it means this pretender's shenanigans are beneath him.

6. Pretty much enjoyed everything except the Punk stuff. Might have to just start catching the highlights instead of watching.

I don't know...real life drama aside, the way these professional wrestling characters have been portrayed in kayfabe it just doesn't make any sense to me at all that MJF would be sitting idly by ignoring Punk calling himself the "real world champion" and defending it as the de facto Collision world title. Even less so given that Punk has directly taken several backhanded jabs at him. I am willing to wait and see because AEW has generally been pretty good narratively throughout its history, but this whole thing just isn't hitting for me, personally. It feels to me like they're dragging it out in a way that doesn't make narrative sense because they are trying to have a soft brand split, with the "real world championship" as Collision's top prize. I will fully admit that there being more than one "world championship" is, bar none, my absolute least favorite thing in wrestling, so I probably had a negative bias against this storyline from the beginning.

I will fully admit that there being more than one "world championship" is, bar none, my absolute least favorite thing in wrestling, so I probably had a negative bias against this storyline from the beginning. I think at least for me, the main thing that's causing the issues is simply Punk being a face. That means everybody else has to act accordingly or you make him look like the bad guy. It's why commentary has to just kind of in a matter of fact way call it, the quote unquote real world title, and that's kinda all they can say. It's why they just mention with no real drama, Punk still claims he's the world champ and wasn't beaten, tonight he faces Ricky Starks, they just can't put any heat behind it. If Punk were a heel they could really dig into it. Punk is delusional! What world is CM Punk living in?? Will someone tell Punk to shut up and he's not the world champ already!? They have to call it down the middle or else you make Punk look like the heel, because what's he's doing is pretty heelish. That's why MJF or anybody hasn't mentioned it, they can't go too hard on the guy or you run the risk of making your babyface hero look like an egomaniac sore loser. It really should be a face or the champ to confront him on his b.s, but you can't do that so a heel like Ricky has to do it. Everything has to be held back, so there's just no heat behind any of it. This is the reason I think people are saying the story has holes and narrative wise isn't working. That's how it feels to me anyway.
