Just watched Knives out and move Daniel Craig’s old southern plantation owner accent. I’ve read reviews where they say the accent is too over the top and fake, but I think it’s great.
Same for rogue from 90s x men and Blanche Deveroux. Love that over the top sexy southern belle that apparently isn’t a real thing

Jodie Foster’s space French accent in Elysium was certainly a choice
President Warren in Detroit: Become Human - I don’t even know.
Sean Connery doing the same thing in every movie ethnicity of the character be damned deserves some sort of honorable mention

President Warren in Detroit: Become Human - I don’t even know. I believe the voice actress is Irish and she has no talent for an American accent. She should have just went with a Canadian accent, as that’s at least close to the Minnesota/Wisconsin accent. She’s not the only one with a questionable accent. Gavin, the asshole cop, had a weird one too. It’s not like the actor wasn’t any good as his other character (yes, he played two in the same game) was solid. It’s so weird that the prick FBI guy also played the only truly likable character in Beyond: Two Souls (honestly, that game is only fun if you play coop).

Most mocking Canadian accents are funny. Except for shitheads who clearly say A BOOT!!!
I don’t mean people who’s accent sounds to others ears like it, I mean people who clearly are just saying A Boot.

for a guy who did a great boston accent in The Departed, Leonardo Dicaprio deciding to go as Family Guy as possible with it in Shutter Island was certainly a choice.

Also, Tim Curry doing a Russian accent in Red Alert 3. “Twoop leader says we are not meeting our qvuota.” I also have a fondness for “I’m an egypshian, I only shound shcottish.”

Always have a soft spot for comically over-the-top Russian accents – Walter Koenig in Star Trek, John Malkovich in Rounders, Fammke Janssen in Goldeneye, Gary Oldman in Air Force One, Cate Blanchett in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2.
Gerard Butler's American accent, which sounds exactly like a Scotsman doing a bad impression of a gruff American.
Also, a shout out to Michael Fassbender for the heroic attempts he made in the first ten years of his career to play literally anything but an Irishman. Doesn't matter what nationality he was playing, that brogue just kept popping in to say "Hi."

Everyone in Final Fantasy XIV has English accents. In A Realm Reborn, they used mostly American and Canadian actors, with some exceptions like Gideon Emery who voiced Urianger. ARR also had, by all accounts, very bad voice acting direction. So the accents sound really fake on top of unsurprisingly mediocre actors from some otherwise well-regarded VA's.
From Heavensward on, Square Enix changed studios to one based in the UK. So almost all the voice actors are now British and the accents are now far more authentic sounding.

Oh and Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. My friend and I just discussed this incredible performance. Because we watched it as kids we both watched this man talking on screen with Julie Andrews and somehow accepted that both sounded right. Only years later did I realize one of them sounded ridiculous. …. It’s like Julie Andrews wasn’t even trying!
