I was once blocked in a central aisle in Walmart by two old ladies walking side by side with their walkers. When it’s folks with disabilities like that, I don’t really mind so much. It’s when able-bodied people are just so oblivious to their surroundings that they inconvenience everyone in a crowd that I get a bit annoyed. Also, life-hack, go to Costco alone. Not with the family. Not with a partner. Alone. If I go with the wife, there’s no way I’m getting out in under an hour. Alone? 15 minutes. 20 if I feel like getting a hotdog on the way out. So the old lady thing, I don't think I would've minded it so much if they weren't side by side and if I could've gotten around them using the side aisles. Every time I tried to cut ahead of them, there they were, still blocking me. Fortunately that only happened once, while I continue to see the standard meatwall phenomena of people standing around talking, blocking aisles without a care in the world. I hate motorized shopping carts in those stores too. Too wide for the aisles and I've had more than one person on those try to ram their way through without thinking of if they're gonna run over someone in the process or not. Used to get to Costco just before they opened in the morning, then be out in an hour or less with everything before the crowds really started arriving. Between COVID and idiot brother who goes at either 5 PM on weekdays or on weekends, both of which are horrible times, I legit haven't been to Costco in years.

I forgot about the pizza. It's a great deal for a family or for putting on a party or taking to work. $10 for like double the size of normal pizzas. But the cheese tastes rubber and just having one makes my stomach feel like it's about to burst. Probably a good thing since it stops me from eating more. We have a costco next to our job so lots of customers will bring two boxes in for some staff and volunteers from a local church will buy a few boxes to homeless outreach. One slice is alright for me but I prefer the mom and pop shops or even papa john's.

The ones who do it in Kroger really get me. Especially when they let their kids run wild through the store, and it's not a big store so it's hard to dodge people anyway. A few weeks ago these two boys were racing back and forth outside the meat department and their mother did nothing. I was so annoyed. I had a kid walk in the meat department at the Kroger I work at. I was cutting meat on the saw one day and looked up to see a kid, probably 5 or 6 years old, staring at me right inside the door. I stop the saw and was just getting ready to say something to him when the kid's mother opened the door and just casually told him to come on. In my head, I'm thinking that this lady just let her kid walk into a meat shop full of sharp objects and then you just casually say come on like it's a normal thing that your child should be in there. Some people just baffle me. This was 10 years ago or close to that. I was grocery shopping. Kid who looked to be 6 or so runs up kicks me in the shin. Attempts to run off. I snagged his shirt collar. Told him to lead me to his parents. Get lead to this lady. Now when we walked up she was on her phone. I told her "when your call is done we need to talk about this kid kicking me in the leg" She gave me a head nod. Goes back to talking. 3 minutes later I can tell she is just chatting with someone. "Ma'am would you mind ending the call. I need to finish shopping" Get told off cause I asked her to deal with the situation. And gonna clean up my reply "SEE THIS IS WHY YOUR KID IS A TOTAL BASKET OF SUNSHINE. THIS LIL FRIENDLY GUY JUST RAN UP,KICKED ME IN THE FABOULOUS SHIN AND ATTEMPTED TO RUN OFF. HOPE YALL BOTH ENJOY HIS TIME IN ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL!" The lady just shook her head and went back to her phone call. I would love to have a store have like a 2 hour block when NO ONE UNDER 21 is allowed in. Nope people gotta drag along their 5 hellspawns everywhere. Worst part is so many locally home school their kids. So even during the school year middle of the day stores are packed with loud kids running around.
