There’s something to be said for the fact that a lot of wrestling’s most comedically gifted women (Storm in this gimmick, The IIconics, Indi Hartwell in The Way, Emma in her babyface NXT run) are all Australian… or Australian-adjacent, for New Zealand-born Storm.

One of my favorite things about the line in that promo was that she set it up with "You know what they say!" because that has me picturing new backstory where Toni was for some reason raised in some place like the "School to Prepare Proper Young Ladies for 1930's Hollywood" where she got told Chin Up Tits Out and Watch For the Shoe™ daily. Or that she's so insane she believes she went to a school like that.

I have to say this has to be my favorite "Reaction/breakdown to losing a title" maybe since PAC/Neville lost the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and showed up on the next 205 live looking like he hadn't slept in days.

My favorite part of the show right now and I was a big critic of hers in WWE and AEW as she always came off like she was intoxicated or uninterested.

She hated her time in WWE, which I won't really blame them for (even if some of the creative decisions with her were baffling). Sometimes it just doesn't work out between a wrestler and a company. I think she's been great since joining AEW, but i'm glad she's now finally getting the opportunity to show how much personality she really has and how much she's improved on the mic. |

Not really a hot take, least I don’t think, but deluded 40s actress Toni Storm is infinitely better than Rock Chick Toni imo 80's rocker Toni Storm is a perfect example of a shallow gimmick. It provides the bare minimum of distinguishment, in the sense of being an aesthetic that an audience could find appealing, but it didn't actually add anything on a character level. Toni didn't have 80's rocker things to do in a wrestling ring, and at that point the gimmick is just a coat of paint. |

So in the indies she'd go from promotion to promotion without having to do a big explanation of who they are. If you are staying in a promotion with legitimate storyline and characters for a long time you kinda need more than that |
