good for AEW but I cannot believe people still watch the ESPN talking head shows A lot of that is probably bars, restaurants, and hotel lobbies that just leave ESPN on all day. Granted, I like Mina Kimes and she's on Around the Horn sometimes.

Just wanna highlight that all matches had a storyline reason.
And all were fairly popular storylines ( some more TBA others) and had some sort of character development.
Ir just shows whay I said before. IF AEW keeps focusing on booking around character growth , they will do even better.

Yes, yes, last night truly was the grandest of slams. Not a glorious exhibition of sports prowess, of course. Not a grand moment to ignite a marveling crowd and give them a moment of greatness to forever remember. No, AEW's grand slam was another powerful crash down into the earth itself. This planet has existed for billions of years and the churn of its molten core has created countless layers that now, AEW is being slammed through. Cracks in the mantle of the earth, a deed thought impossible, form under the bloated weight of Tony Khan's hubris and misdeeds. How many more slams must AEW endure before finally the earth opens entirely to swallow it whole? To consume the mistakes of this folly and bring it to the infernal resting place that surely awaits it below.

A rare case of ratings being interesting because I can't remember a 2hr show being almost purely high profile singles matches before.
I think it's telling that there were no overly long promos to lose viewers. Obviously you shouldn't do this every week though.

Well earned, think if it wasn't for the Mox concussion more people would be taking about this as one of the very best shows they've put on, every match felt important and big spots and moments just never let up all night.

I make no promises because that's a lot of actual writing effort to put together to a good degree and posting here is supposed to be my escape from writing, but. I'll see if I can cook up somethign next week.

Yeah that’s how I felt about it. This was a damn good show and my mind on occansion drifts back to how much I enjoyed it throughout the day In the Collision thread last week I rated it a 5. This was like a 9, 9.5 Massive different in quality and enjoyment

Grand Slam was not a swing and a miss. They really knocked it out of the park with this one.

Interesting...Definitely a lot of positive receptions here but it was one of the sloppiest shows they have had in a long time.

Interesting...Definitely a lot of positive receptions here but it was one of the sloppiest shows they have had in a long time. Everyone I've spoken to that went to the show absolutely loved it. The opener and main event were objectively amazing and both had great feel good moments, Jericho/Guevara was a good match even with the missed spot and the turn afterwards was great. What happened to Mox absolutely sucks but the match itself was still really good and Fenix ending up with the belt one way or another was a big moment. Saraya/Toni was great, crowd absolutely ate up pretty much everything they did. And you got the amazing Roddy in his hospital bed segment as well. People are going to be willing to look past botches when they're putting on brilliant stuff at the same time.

My statement you quoted was posted because social seemed to be heavily focused on all the craziness and match 1 (which was freakin killer) but it's the opposite reception here which is a good thing.
